Would you look at that, the Australian Institute can the correlation between laws and the law abiding following them. Pity that they aren’t tracking or acknowledging that this has had NO proven evidence of impacting gun crime which is largely conducted with unregistered fi****ms.

NSW Police data shows that gun dealers’ sales have been cut in half since the laws were passed in late December – from around 5,000 per month last year, to around 2,000 per month this year.

For laws with the stated aim of reducing the number of guns in the community, this is a clear success.

Similarly, the number of applications for new guns, known as ‘permits to acquire’ (PTA), has shrunk from around 7,000 per month last year to just 5,000 per month after the new gun laws were passed.

Look at the body language look at the facial expression that’s not the image of a confident person and he’s still clinging to the fictional belt fed shotgun.

Ozzie Reviews dropping the hard facts!

A firearm suppressor or silencer as they’re often called, are freely available in New Zealand, the UK and many other countries, however they are prohibited for licensed shooters to use at the range or out recreationally shooting in Australia.

What do they actually do?

- They reduce the recoil of the firearm making it more enjoyable to shoot

- They reduce the loud boom caused by firing a round

- They significantly reduce noise complaints from residents near shooting ranges

- They comply with Workplace Health & Safety laws regarding safe noise levels when using fi****ms

What they don’t do?

- They don’t completely silence the shot as 99% of fi****ms shoot a bullet at supersonic velocity, meaning over the speed of sound, which means that the bullet still creates a loud noise as it breaks the sound barrier during flight, you cannot silence this from happening as it’s pure physics

- They don’t turn you into an assassin. A licensed shooter doesn’t randomly start assassinating people because they attach a suppressor to their firearm, that’s Hollywood BS and if it were true, we’d see countless shootings with them in those countries where they are freely available

- They don’t increase the speed that the firearm can shoot nor do they make the firearm more powerful, they are simply a device similar to a muffler on a car, it doesn’t silence it, it just reduces the noise to a much more tolerable level

But the antigun mob in Australia keep pushing their emotional catch phrase of “only assassins want silencers”.

I think it’s time to ignore the catch phrases and simply look at the facts on suppressors.

Would you look at that, Sweden established that law abiding citizens are, well, law abiding. Yet here we are in Australia 👀🦗

🇸🇪 Big news from Sweden showing real trust in responsible citizens!

The new Fi****ms Act (coming into force mid-2026) is raising the limit on long guns gun owners can possess — from 4+2 up to 8+2 — while keeping handguns at 9 for a new max of 19 fi****ms per person. Lifetime permits for more types, easier dealer-handled transfers, and less bureaucracy for law-abiding hunters and sport shooters.

In an era of tightening rules elsewhere, Sweden is saying: vetted, responsible gun owners deserve greater freedom. Refreshing approach!

What do you think — more trust equals safer society? 🔫🇸🇪

So instead of arresting systemic failures regarding how people on a terrorist watch list were allowed to buy fi****ms, they try to pass the blame on law abiding shooters yet again.

Officials from the NSW Police Fi****ms Registry were warned in December 2020 that too little was being done to encourage gun club members to report extremism in their ranks.
