Our History

In 1926, Bert Standish started a family tradition that is still going strong today, and promises to for many years to come. Bert discovered a passion and natural talent for bicycle riding that saw him win many events in competition racing throughout South Australia. He raced for twenty-two years whilst also working for a bicycle company in Adelaide.

In 1952 he opened the first Standish Cycles store in Unley, which is still there today (now re-branded to East End Cycles). Bert's two sons Roger and Graham both grew up to share the same passion for bikes as their father and they eventually added to the Standish Cycles legacy by opening their own stores around Adelaide.

Today the East End Cycles store is still a family owned business, that pride themselves on providing the same great friendly service and family values that made Bert such a success all those years ago.
