Hello lovely dancers and followers 👋
Dance and theatre artist Lisa Lanzi has a wonderful fundraiser coming up for the remarkable No Strings Theatre of Disability - would love to see you there 😍
Less than one month to go until Winter Wonderland ❄️✨
Our annual heartwarming fundraiser is just around the corner, and we can’t wait to gather for a night filled with cheer, connection and a little mid-year Christmas magic.
We have some fabulous entertainment lined up, including ABC Radio Adelaide host, Jason Chong, as our MC!
We’re bringing PubSING to Woodville Town Hall - with a bit of a mid-winter Christmassy vibe. If you have only ever been a secret shower-singer or someone who always thought they COULDN’T sing then this is your chance to join in with a room full of strangers who will become firm friends through this shared madcap sing-a-long experience. And for those who prefer to just clap along and let the professionals strut their stuff, we’ve got that covered too, with the amazing Lisa K Lanzi and Catherine Campbell bringing a touch of classy Cabaret to the stage.
Join us on Saturday, 16th May as we celebrate all things Winter and Wonderful, with great company, festive fun and a shared purpose of supporting disabled artists to shine through new professional development and paid performance opportunities, with new artistic outcomes already in development.
Tickets are available now via our website 🔗 https://nostrings.org.au/listing/winter-wonderland-2026/
We’d love to see you there! 💛

My dance teaching colleague and dear friend, Cherie, sent me this article and I thought it was worth sharing. Anecdotal evidence of the neuroprotective powers of vigorous exercise. Perhaps we should be doing something a bit more up tempo like swing dance!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
And happy new look for the dance class at Clarence Park Community Centre.
After nearly 10 years as "Contemporary Dance...For Seniors", the class was due for a re-brand. Henceforth, the class will be known as "Every Body Chair-Based Dance".
This name change acknowledges that it is not only senior adults for whom a chair-based dance class may be the most appropriate dance class format, but also appreciates that there are plenty of senior adults who are VERY capable of doing a fully free-standing dance class (my Burnside City Council Over 65s dance classes being a robust example of that!).
Thank you to my husband for helping with the new logo creation, as a model for the seated figure and for holding my hand with my first experience using AI to create the logo.
Tomorrow is AusArt Day, Creative Australia's first ever national giving day for the arts. Dance for Parkinson's Australia is participating with a goal of raising $2,500. If you have some spare cash, please consider donating via this link

Well it has been a few weeks now, but here are some photos from TWD10! It was a beautiful afternoon and the energy in the room was spine tingling! Thank you to the dancers and the teachers for coming on this chair-based dance journey. Thank you also to the volunteers for helping us run the event and for Erica Rose Jeffrey of Dance for Parkinson's Australia for coming down to join us for the celebration. And lastly thank you to Stephanie Lake for allowing us to use the "Choir" section of "MASS MOVEMENT" as our shared dance work. To another 10 years!
