NOMINATIONS ARE NOW OPEN!

The Blackwood Football Club Meritorious Service Award recognises members who have demonstrated exceptional, consistent and significant service to our Club over many years.

A current and financial BFC member may submit a written nomination to the Life Membership Committee by 30 September 2026 for consideration.

To be eligible, the nominee must be a financial member who has provided a minimum of 10 years of service to the Blackwood Football Club.

Service may include outstanding contributions through:

🔴 Committee & leadership
🤝 Volunteering
🏆 Sponsorship
🟢 Umpiring
❤️ Service to our Club and community

Following consideration, the Life Membership Committee will make recommendations to the Committee of Management for review and endorsement. Nominators will be advised in writing of the outcome, with successful recipients invited to the Blackwood Football Club Annual General Meeting, where the award will be presented.

This is an opportunity to recognise the Mighty Woods who have given their time, energy and passion to our Club and helped make Blackwood Football Club what it is today.

🏉❤️💚 WHAT A WAY TO KICK OFF FINALS SEASON ❤️💚🏉

What a weekend for the Mighty Woods! Finals footy brought the emotion, the excitement and, as always, our incredible community together.

🔴🟢 C GRADE GRAND FINAL

Unfortunately, the Mighty Woods C Grade fell just short against Lobethal, going down 5.5 (35) to 5.7 (37).

But what a game. What an absolute battle. Right down to the very last second, both teams left everything out on the field and delivered an incredible game of football.

And while the result wasn't what we wanted, there was SO much to celebrate. The atmosphere around the club was absolutely electric, and once again our Mighty Woods community showed exactly what makes this club so special, coming together, getting behind our players and supporting them every step of the way. ❤️💚

We couldn't be prouder of Coach Luke Warburton and his team and the incredible season they have had. Another Grand Final, another season of giving everything for the Woods. You should all be incredibly proud. 👏

AND THEN… THE U12s! 🤯🏆❤️💚💪⭐

The Mighty Woods U12s took on the Mitcham Hawks, the only team to have beaten them this season, and came away with an incredible 5.6 (36) to 3.8 (26) victory!

For many of our parents, it was their first taste of Grand Final footy, and you could feel the nerves as they paced the sidelines. But the boys stood up when it mattered most and delivered an incredible win. 💪

This group is something really special. The players, the parents and the coach are a huge part of the future of our club, and we couldn't be more excited about where these young Woods are heading. 🌟

A massive shout-out to Coach Ryan and Team Manager Mel for everything they have done to get this team to the Grand Final. What an achievement! 👏

What a performance from Louie! At such a young age, he is already proving to be an absolute force on the football field. Congratulations Louie. You are a star! 🏅

🏆 C GRADE GRAND FINAL - WOODS v LOBETHAL🏆

This Friday night, our Blackwood C Grade takes on Lobethal in what promises to be an absolute Grand Final showdown. If you love hills footy, this is one you won't want to miss.

Our C Grade are chasing back-to-back premierships and have built an incredible legacy, reaching the Grand Final every year since 2022. It's a remarkable achievement and a testament to the commitment, culture and winning mentality that has been built within this group.

Leading the way is the legendary Luke Warburton, now in his 7th season as coach. His dedication to the club and ability to get the very best out of his players has helped establish one of the competition's most consistent and respected teams.

Now it's time for this seasons final challenge.

What a massive weekend for our Mighty Woods footballers! Finals footy delivered everything... hard-fought wins, Grand Final berths, another chance for our Under 14s, and a huge Friday night still to come.

🟢🔴 B Grade Qualifying Final 2
Mighty Woods 5.3 (33) def. Uraidla 2.6 (18)

An absolute battle between two of the division's best, with the midfield contest proving the highlight of the day. Wet and windy conditions made scoring difficult early, but Woods found another gear after half time to book their place in the Grand Final.

Three Quarter Time: Woods 3.1 (19) – Uraidla 1.6 (12)

Mighty Woods 7.6 (48) def. Mount Barker 5.8 (38)

The Under 18s led at every break before holding off a determined final-quarter comeback from Mount Barker to punch their ticket to the Grand Final.

Mount Barker proved too strong on the day, defeating Woods 1.2 (8) to 8.9 (57).

The boys aren't done yet! They get another opportunity this week in a home Preliminary Final against Nairne with a Grand Final spot on the line.

A fantastic team performance saw our Under 12s secure their place in this week's Grand Final, where they'll take on the Mitcham Hawks.

The weekend kicks off with our Culture Grade hosting a HOME GRAND FINAL under lights on Friday night against Lobethal.

We want the club buzzing! Fill the hill, line the fence and wear your red and green as we get behind the boys on one of the biggest nights of the season.

With our C Grade, B Grade, Under 18s and Under 12s all playing for premiership glory, and our Under 14s fighting for their Grand Final spot, it's shaping up to be an unforgettable couple of weeks for the Mighty Woods.
