The Woods & all the other HFL teams are taking a well-earned break this long weekend as another bye round rolls around.

After a big start to the season, it's time to recharge the batteries, enjoy some family time, and get ready for the second half of the year.

Whether you're relaxing, catching up with mates, or enjoying the long weekend, we hope all players, members, sponsors and supporters have a fantastic few days.

❤️💚 A Grade Debut - Tom Crosby ❤️💚
The Blackwood Football Club would like to congratulate Tom Crosby on making his A Grade debut on the weekend.

A proud milestone for Tom and his family, with his jumper presented by Steve Woods, an A Grade Premiership Player and a respected member of the Blackwood Football Club family. Having a former premiership player present the jumper made the occasion even more special as Tom took the field for his first senior game.

While the A Grade wasn't able to secure the win, it was a high-quality contest against a side that finished second on the ladder last season. The boys battled hard all day and showed plenty of character against strong opposition.

The club is incredibly proud of the progress being made by this group. Every week they continue to develop, compete and represent the Blackwood Football Club with great pride. Results don't always fall your way, but the effort, commitment and growth of the squad have been outstanding.

Congratulations, Tom, on your A Grade debut. It is a well-deserved achievement and one that reflects the hard work you have put in both on and off the field. We look forward to seeing many more games in the green and red.

❤️💚A Grade Debut – Benji Spraggs❤️💚

The Blackwood Football Club would like to congratulate Benji Spraggs on making his A Grade debut on the weekend.

A special moment for Benji and his family, with his jumper proudly presented by Life Member and club legend Greg Langham aka Manassa.
Greg is an A Grade Premiership player and sits second on the all-time games played list at our club, making it a fitting presentation for a young player taking his first steps at senior level.

While the A Grade didn't come away with the win, it was a terrific contest against a side that finished second on the ladder last season. The boys competed strongly all day and showed exactly why there is so much excitement around this group.

We couldn't be prouder of the squad and the direction they're heading. Every week they continue to grow, develop and challenge themselves against quality opposition. You can't win them all, but the effort, commitment and culture being built are something all Woods supporters can be proud of.

Congratulations again, Benji. A fantastic achievement and hopefully the first of many A Grade games in the green and red.

🟢🔴 DEBUT GAME FOR JACKSON MOODY 🔴🟢

A huge congratulations to Jackson Moody on making his senior debut for the Mighty Woods on the weekend.

Jackson came through the junior grades at Blackwood and is currently part of the Sturt Senior Men’s program, so it was fantastic to see him pull on the red and green at senior level once again.

While we unfortunately didn’t come away with the win, Jackson absolutely proved his worth, putting together a standout performance and earning Best Player honours on the day. A massive effort and one the club is incredibly proud of.

Jackson was presented his guernsey by club sponsor and all-round legend Dave Benson before the game.

We’d be more than happy to have Jack pull on the red and green any day of the week. Thank you so much for coming out and representing the club with pride — we are proud to call you a Mighty Wood ❤️💚🔥

Congratulations to Lily Dunstall-Bruce who is making her League SANFLW debut for South Adelaide FC today!! ❤️💚

Lily is an elite and versatile player who has made a huge impact on Blackwood’s success over the years. She’s a strong runner, reads the game brilliantly, and can take an awesome mark.

We know she’s going to be a massive asset for the South Adelaide side, and we can’t wait to see what she does at league level. We couldn’t be prouder of everything she has achieved.

📣 Senior Women + Junior Girls Results 📣

Our girls put together a strong weekend of footy across all grades. Our A Grade HFL side came away with a huge win over Mt Barker, while our Senior SFL side unfortunately fell just short against Port Noarlunga after a hard-fought performance all day.

It was a tough contest for our U17s against a strong Mt Lofty side, with the girls battling it out to finish with a draw.

Our U14s HFL side continued their dominant form with a big win over Nairne, while the U14s SFL side were defeated by a strong Port Noarlunga team. Our U12s also fought hard but unfortunately couldn’t get the win this week.
