Davo is moving on to the next chapter of his life.

Long-time General Manager Nathan Davison has decided it's time to step away from his front office career with the club, leaving behind an extraordinary legacy of accomplishments and culture.

He has a 26-season association with the Giants as both a player and front office figure. He is the only person who has been involved with the ABL in Adelaide every single year of its iteration.

Davo played 10 years and 437 games for Adelaide before moving into the front office when the ABL returned, serving as Assistant General Manager from 2010-2013 and General Manager/CEO from 2013-2026.

Across that time, he guided the club through multiple ownership changes and vastly different eras of the ABL.

The list of accomplishments during his tenure is remarkable. Some of them are:

- Breaking a 43-year SA Claxton Shield drought;

- Winning three ABL championships (23, 24 and 26);

- Setting the ABL single-game attendance record;

- Forging relationships with major international organisations, including the Tokyo Giants and Philadelphia Phillies;

- Forming partnerships with CPBL and KBO clubs;

- Navigating the club through COVID-19;

- Helping lead professional baseball in Australia in the use of data, analytics and scouting;

- Rebranding the Bite back to the Giants;

- Turning Adelaide into one of the premier destinations for players in Australian baseball, while continuing to develop elite South Australian talent;

- Hiring, mentoring and leading dozens of people and players across all aspects of the organisation, many of whom remain with the club or have gone on to achieve incredible things;

We’re sure there’s plenty we’ve missed. It doesn’t even include his time as CEO of Baseball South Australia.

But of all those accomplishments, Nathan says what motivated him most was the people.

“My intention was always to make the Adelaide Giants a place that people wanted to be…and to leave it in a better place,” said Davison. “I can’t be the judge of either of those but hopefully others will see that and can continue to enjoy what so many people have put so much work in.”

Drew Davies leads the Florida State League (Class-A) in On-Base-Percentage 💥

Our guy is hitting .277 with a .410 OBP in 97 games with the Daytona Tortugas, an affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds. His .823 OPS ranks seventh.

What year from Drew!

Cooper Morgan is on a ridiculous run right now 😳

In 58.0 innings out of the bullpen for the Quebec Capitales, Morgan has a 2.17 ERA, a 0.86 WHIP and 71 strikeouts.

His August numbers are even more absurd.

17.2 IP | 2 ER | 20 SO. That's a 1.01 ERA thank you very much.

The Capitales are a league leading 67-28 and have a 15.5 game lead in their division. Playoffs start next week.

Go Coop!

This lil guy grows up to be a Giant. Here’s the Darcy Barry journey ⬇️

⚾ EARLY YEARS: Darcy starts playing at West Torrens, plays Charter baseball with Rays and grows up going to Adelaide Bite and Giants games.

🏆 2019: Named South Australia’s MVP at the U16 Nationals.

🔥 2020-21: As a 17-year-old, hits .430 in Division I SABL, earns Team of the Year honours.

➡️ 2021: Makes the move to Henley & Grange.

⚾ 2021-22: Gets first taste of Giants, playing in exhibition campaign during the COVID-cancelled ABL season. Leads Giants in RBI. Represents Australia at World Cup qualifiers.

🇺🇸 2022-23: Heads to USA, begins college at North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) in Iowa. He hits .175 with 2 HR in his freshman season.

📈 2023-24: Sticks with it and takes a big step forward in year two: .288 AVG | 6 HR | 14 2B | 32 RBI.

🇨🇦 2024: Summer baseball with Fort McMurray Giants in Canada.

🖊️ 2026: Signs with Giants, his first pro deal

4 years of college baseball changed him.

“I’m bigger, faster, stronger, I’ve got a higher baseball IQ. I think that experience has brought me more composure. I think I am more of a leader now. I’m a smarter player than five years ago.”

And behind that development?

“The thing that drives my game is my preparation. I’ve always been diligent in staying in the weight room. I’m always working hard…I want to be the best player I can be.”

Now, the kid who grew up going to games now has the chance to pull on the uniform himself.

“I did see myself coming back and playing with the Giants. Now that it’s becoming a reality, I’m really excited to get going. It was always a dream. I grew up an Adelaide Bite fan. I went to Norwood, I went to West Beach. Playing for Adelaide has always been a dream for me.”

Darcy is home, now he's a Giant 🔒

He has a really cool story. He was born, raised and crafted by the South Australian baseball community. He went to college and became a more complete player.

Now, he turns pro with his childhood team and has a chance to crack the line-up of a team that's won three of four titles.

Darcy is a story we're proud of and a great guy. We think you should read about it via the link below.

Eric talked to Darcy, one of his coaches and Giants management. We're pumped.

Darcy Barry returns to South Australia, eying off spot in Giants' lineup 24/08/2026

“It was always a dream. I grew up a fan. I’ve said it before but going out to the games it was always a dream to be on that squad. It’s a dream come true for a kid [from Adelaide],” says Barry. “I can hopefully stick with the Giants and be a local player that people can watch consistently.”

Yessssss 🙌 Yamato Shiroki picked up his first ever NPB win last night with the Tokyo Giants 🇯🇵

The 22-year-old pitched in Adelaide last summer. Who can forget his final Giants start? In a game we really needed to have vs the Blue Sox, he took a perfect game into the sixth with a final stat line of 5.1 IP, 1 H and 9 SO.

His NPB season ERA is down to 3.00.

Really cool to see this leap.
