It was a privilege to attend the Adelaide Comets FC Sponsors Night last month to hear how the club is faring this year with the many teams under the umbrella, as well as network with connections within the club.
The icing on the cake was being able to hear from Bruce Djite and Sam Jacobs and gain some intimate insights into their lives as professional sportspeople who have reached the pinnacle in both forms of football.
Thank you Jim Tsouvalas and the Comets for putting on a great night! ππ€βοΈ

βοΈ Our last regular season round saw disappointing results for our club against Campbelltown City.
β½ Some patches of promise in defense from Travis Ashworth and Rosie Milton, while Josh Yap and Fiona Phan continued their improvement as forwards. Jonathan Nguyen pushed through our solitary goal of the day.

The Poweroos β Australiaβs world ranked football team you need to know about Australia's powerchair football team, the Poweroos, are currently ranked fourth in the world but will be looking to claim the top spot at the World Cup in 2022.
Two weeks ago our Comets' players in Chantel and Jono went onto EPFA News, a show presented by the European Powerchair Football Association - EPFA where they were given the opportunity to talk all things and discuss the development of the SA Powerchair Football Championship! Thanks once again to the EPFA for giving our two players an opportunity to discuss our beautiful game! β½οΈ

βοΈ Our last round of games netted us some great opportunities, but too few were converted into goals as we went down in both games against Campbelltown City.
β½ Rosie Milton and Chantel Bongiovanni put in solid efforts which resulted in our only goals of the day, while our defense improved throughout both games after a shaky start.
π We will be back at The Lights Community and Sports Centre on Sunday May 2 from 12:30pm-3:30pm!

βοΈ We were unable to clinch our maiden victory last round, but the feeling amongst the group is that we're not far off from getting there! Our previous round on Saturday 27 March saw us fall away from where we want to be with a 4-0 loss, before rallying in the second game and narrowly losing to Campbelltown City Soccer & Social Club 3-2.
β½ A maiden goal by keeper-turned-forward #07 Savey Gucake was the highlight for our club! His goal rejuvenated our side as we rallied from 3-0 down in game two to close the gap to a solitary goal after #8 Travis Ashworth's goal in the late moments of the game.
π We have a jam packed weekend of Powerchair Football coming up, with a competition training session on Saturday 10 April from 1pm-4pm @ Hampstead Rehab Centre Gymnasium. Our round of games then follow on Sunday 11 April from 1pm-4pm at our usual home of The Lights Community and Sports Centre!

βοΈ In review of our two matches last Saturday, we went blow for blow against Campbelltown City Soccer & Social Club's powerchair side, however came up short both times. Promising passages of play showed our offensive set ups taking shape and capitalising on our scoring opportunities, though our defense left us vulnerable.
β½ Travis Ashworth and Jonathan Nguyen were our multiple scorers over both games, with Chantel Bongiovanni leading as captain to register a goal also. Promising signs from our young players in Josh Yap and Kaitlyn Handley in energising our team and showing improvement throughout the game! And a special shoutout to Savey Gucake who's brave play from defense lead to an assist. Pretty good from our goalkeeper!
β½ See us in full flight today Saturday March 27th 2021 at The Lights Community and Sports Centre for our two games! For our supporters who can't make it, you can tune into our LIVE stream on the SA Powerchair Football Championship page, with both games to be streamed 12:30pm and 1:30pm respectively.
