For membership enquiries, email the Club Captain at [email protected] The Adelaide University Boat Club was founded on August 4th, 1881, two weeks after the opening of Torrens Lake. It was the second university boat club in Australia; Melbourne’s was founded in 1860 and Sydney’s in 1885 (although Sydney University men had rowed with Sydney Rowing Club as early as 1860, which SUBC claim as their foundation date). AUBC is committed to providing members with the resources they need to participate in rowing at all levels in a fun, enjoyable environment. We are open to all rowers aged 16+ and you do not have to be an Adelaide University student to join! Following our extensive boatshed refurbishment in 20010, the club now boast a fully operational function centre with a maximum capacity of up to 250 patrons.

Help our athletes get to Melbourne for Head of the Yarra and come see us on the Saturday and Sunday 10th-11th of October between 10am-5pm.

Big China dump

Last week 18 AUBC athletes returned from Nanjing, China after representing Adelaide University in the China Australia Program Youth Exchange, and in the 2026 Nanjing International Universities Rowing Open.

Our women took out fourth in CAPYE and bronze in the rowing open 🥉. Our men finished 4th and 6th in the respective regattas as well.

We’re launching a new Head of the Yarra Membership for Adelaide University students who have previous rowing experience and want to race Head of the Yarra 2026, without committing to a full summer season.

Whether you’ve just finished school rowing, haven’t raced in a few years, or simply want to get back in a boat with other university rowers, this is your chance.

The membership will include:
• 14-week training program (starting August 24)
• Up to three on-water sessions each week
• Dedicated men’s and women’s crews
• Race Australia’s premier 8 km head race in Melbourne on 29 November
• A special Head of the Yarra membership with no obligation to continue into the full RSA season

Congratulations again to Ollie,Henry, Jasper, and Zara (and ARC’s Sam Stunell), as they set their sights on their final stint of training before U23 Worlds in Duisberg, Germany.

The group landed at the European Training Centre in Iatly, Verase two weeks ago and have spent their time acclimatising to the European summer climate and polishing their respective crews.

Ollie and Jasper will race bow and stroke seat of the Men’s Quadruple Scull, Henry will race the four seat of the Men’s Coxed Eight, and Zara will be travelling as a spare for the Women’s squad. Adelaide Rowing Club’s Sam Stunell will also be racing the PR3 Men’s Single Scull.

Good luck to all athletes and stay tuned for July 23, when racing commences.

Hamish will compete in the open men’s single and double Holland-Beker regatta on the 19th of June, and then in the single against some of the other world’s finest on the 26th of June in World Cup 3.
