Throwback time! 2009, and our old shop used to look like this after hours. 😅

Yup, it was so small that we had to stack bikes in the carpark during the day and bring them back in every night. (And, of course, each one had to be positioned juuuust right to avoid derailleur knocks.) Let's also not forget the ongoing battle of trying not to clunk into each other in the workshop. 🔧🚑️

And yet, somehow, we functioned. 😂

We're very happy not to be doing the bike shuffle at Waymouth St. (That being said, you should see the workshop at the moment. 😲)

WORKSHOP HORROR FIND (& what no-one tells you about torque ratings) 😱

These poor bars were crushed due to over-tightening. Now, we know you don't want your handlebars to slip; that's important. But here's the more important part: when you see a torque rating on a component (e.g. 'X-X Nm'), the highest number isn’t actually the recommended rating – it’s the *maximum*. 💣️

Start from at least 20% below max, and then test to see if the component stays put. If it doesn’t, go up half a Newton-metre from there. DON'T just crank it immediately to the max. That's how you end up with Cracky McCrackface here. 💔

Also, use a good-quality, properly calibrated torque wrench. If you want one of the best, we've got the Syntace Torque Tool in stock. (It's so good, we use it in the workshop.) 🪛

Tag your mate who dials everything to the max. 🤪
