Hey dance family 👋 we have some big - not so awesome - news.
It’s with great sadness that we announce ALX 2027 will be the final Adelaide Lindy Exchange.
This decision hasn’t come easily, but it's one we’ve had to make after thoughtful consideration and lots of conversation.
A few key factors have led us here. The current economic climate is making it harder for people to travel and attend exchanges across the country.
Pricing has gone up across the board, from venues, bands, new laws, insurance to the small things that make the ALX what it is.
We’ve always been committed to hosting a high-quality exchange with great music/ musicians, top-tier venues, wonderful photographers, and the opportunity to meet new dancers and form long term connections.
Rather than compromise on quality, we’ve chosen to go out with a bang.
That said, we’re not promising to close the door forever. If things change in the future, we’d love to bring ALX back. But for now, we’re putting all our energy into making ALX27 the best one yet.
So whether you've attended every year (thank you!!) or you haven't managed to make it for one yet - now is the time!
