It's July and unlike all other years, we went fishing. In the past we have listened to our 'elders' and taken their advice not to go in July but ... we did go anyway. Why not fish in July you might ask? Well, it's that 'bloodworm run' phenomonon that happens in Adelaide every year. They come out to spawn, and the fish have one big party. They gorge themselves silly until they're bloodwormed up to their eyeballs! And guess where the top place for bloodworm spawning is? Port River Estuary at or near Garden Island - our innocently chosen competition venue for the new fishing year.
It still beats housework though!

Tuesday 2nd of June and winter is officially with us. The weather was wild but didn't stop six intrepid women from throwing in a line to see what they could catch on the jetty at Edithburgh.

So lovely to have fishing friends share Anne's 80th birthday. What a fun day! And to make it an even more special occasion - the duck is back!

Tuesday April 7 and to Rapid Bay we went. It wasn't a busy day but enjoyable nevertheless ... except for one disaster ....

Beacon 19 at Goolwa beckoned and eight of us responded. What a great spot it was and a typical Adelaide March day only made it better. Some got on the scoreboard and some didn't but that's the way it goes. The fish that were caught raised the level of excitement considerably not to mention the two monster bream that got away! We'll be better prepared next time!

Moonta Bay beckoned and we answered the call. Beautiful weather so what was in store ....

This morning's outing may not have had a big result but breakfast at Agatha's afterwards was a just reward and much enjoyed by all.
