❤️💙 GOOD LUCK GIRLS 💙❤️

Two of our NBL1 Women from 2026 have made exciting signings over the past couple of weeks. Amy Cotton and Maddy Hinton are taking their talents overseas.

Amy Cotton joined the Flames last season after finishing her collegiate career with Houston Christian University in NCAA Div 1. She made an immediate impact on the Flames NBL1 team last year averaging 11.1 points a game, to go along with 5.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists a night. Her impact was felt on both ends, and her leadership and difficult shot-making went a long way to the success of the Flames in 2026.

Amy joins the Uniquely Tralee Warriors as their first ever professional Women's player! The club from Ireland has put together their first pro Women's team into the Women's division one competition. Amy will have an amazing opportunity to showcase her talents and represent her home country on an international stage.

Maddy Hinton has spent 3 years with the Flames, being a core piece in our NBL1 Women's program. In 2026 she had a great season winning our Breakout Player Award for the season. Her averages of almost 14 points a game and 3 rebounds and assists on 46/30/84 splits were standout numbers.

Maddy has signed with the Newcastle Eagles, a Super League Basketball team from the United Kingdom. The Newcastle Eagles went 11-7 last season and are looking to retool their team and push for finals basketball this season. Maddy gives them a burst of young talent with plenty of offensive skills and effort anytime she's on the court.

We wish both of our girls the best with their new clubs in the NBL1 off-season!

❤💙 NBL1 WOMENS COACH MATT HUNT RE-SIGNED! 💙❤

The Norwood Flames are delighted to announce that we've resigned Women's Head Coach Matt Hunt for the 2027 NBL1 Season.

After an outstanding campaign in NBL1 Central last year leading the team to a 12-6 season finishing 3rd in the competition. The team had a good post-season run too, making a preliminary final appearance.

“I’m incredibly excited to be continuing this journey with Norwood Flames. What we’ve built over the past season — the culture, the connection and the belief within our group — is something I’m extremely proud of.

There’s still so much more we want to achieve. I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue leading this program, developing our players and building something that our club and community can be proud of.

I can’t wait to get back to work and keep pushing this group forward.” - Coach Matt Hunt on being with the Flames for 2027.
