Round 9 v Phantoms at Henley Sharks Saturday 5th July 6.30pm

Terrific game last Saturday night v Phantoms, always a very strong Masters club, at Henley.
Firstly, a Big Shout out to Brett Harris ‘Joker’ on his 50th game! Joker relishes his role as the Gate Keeper in the heart of our defence, with his golden fists of fury and his magnificent closing speed! Joker put in an enormous preseason, which saw him lose 8kg and is reaping the rewards with his impactful multiple efforts within contests (some pics of the great man including assisting Nick Warne with Kilburn Inclusive).
As far as our performance goes, that’s as clinical as we’ve played all year over 4 quarters and we were supremely cleaner with our ball usage and ability to control the corridor!

Tony Scaffidfi played an outstanding game and was super dangerous from the outset and in front of goal and ended with up 4 belters! His powerful strength both in the air 1-1 and at ground level was unmatchable!
Tyson G-Raffe Slattery & Antony Introna dominated the midfield and were full of class, with their ability to break the game open in traffic and set up our forwards all night! Clearance Kings!
Max Martinson played his best game for the season and snagged 3 absolute rippers from the top shelf! Maxy has been an excellent acquisition since joining our club and is having his best-ever season in the Red & White!
Simon ‘Noddy’ Tylor was at his snarling best off halfback and proved to be a real live wire across half forward in the last. Noddy would take a Jeremy Howe hanger every week if he could and he’s the ultimate teammate with his courage and desperation and his breakaway greyhound speed.
Simon Jupe played his best game for the year after freshening up since our last start! The Jupe-box in Siberia has been playing for Fitzroy on Saturdays throughout the season, which has seen him play his 2nd and even 3rd game for a weekend by the time he trots out in Cats’ colours. We sincerely thank the Jupebox for his contributions both on the field and as our Proud Sponsor as well!

Harry Einarson, Callum Ferguson & Anthony Walker all played their best games for the club and have been thriving in their varying team roles!
The great Johnny Desyllas (our inaugural 2013 & 2014 seasons ‘Red Jacket’) graced our numbers with a fabulous cameo.
All in all, another fantastic performance Super Cats and we look forward to taking on Blackwood in two weeks at Barossa Park.

Round 9 is here!

Another big weekend of AFL Masters SA footy is ahead, with games taking place across Adelaide, Gawler and the Riverland.

Whether you're pulling on the boots, volunteering, umpiring or cheering from the sidelines, get around your club and support your mates for another fantastic weekend of Masters footy.

WOODY SOUTH VS SOUTHERN METRO KOOKABURRAS -
ROUND 8 RUOK

Our Supercats took on the highly regarded Southern Metro Kookaburras in the AFL Masters SA Come Together Round at the Stewie Dew time slot of 9:00am!
Both teams went into the clash with the bare minimum chips, with the Supercats kicking off proceedings with just the 17 players and scratched together a late minute replacement midway through the first quarter. Goals were like diamonds in the opening half, with neither team being able to hit the scoreboard due to the tricky conditions, which also saw the game frequently go between arm wrestle mode or a battle of defences.
The Kookas were clearly the better team in the first half.

Pleasing that we came out and produced a clinical third term and a much better second half overall. Our midfield stepped up with the grunt work and were polished and damaging with ball in hand and in front of the big sticks. We’ve got a lot to be grateful for this Masters’ season with our quality new players that we’ve picked up or second year players returning with great commitment.
We’ve worked hard as a club and will continue to do so on the training track as we zero in on this Saturday Night 6:30pm clash against the Phantoms @ Henley.

We have an appetite to finish off the season strongly, whilst also maintaining that ‘Footy for Fun’ mantra that is synonymous with AFL Masters SA Football.

Big shout out to the Ironman ‘DC’, who chiselled out one of his best performances for the club in the ruck last start and backed it up with a rock-solid debut for the mighty South Whyalla Demons last weekend!
Very proud to see our brilliant club cult figure doing some wonderful things at his new club, which is also my childhood club, who haven’t won an A Grade Premiership since 1994.
