Softball SA is aware of today’s Advertiser article on page 3 regarding the Adelaide Giants and their use of the West Beach Parks facility.

The matters raised are not new to Softball SA. Our Board and staff have been kept informed of developments involving Diamond Sports, Baseball SA and Softball SA, and the comments attributed to our EO and Chairperson reflect our shared position.

Our softball community should not be expected to subsidise a privately owned professional franchise. Any organisation/club or person seeking to use West Beach as its home base is welcome, but must contribute fairly to the costs of operating and maintaining the facility and uphold the standards of conduct and respect expected there.

Softball SA’s representatives on the Diamond Sports Board have been clear: any future use of West Beach by the Adelaide Giants will only be supported by an agreement covering fair cost recovery, permitted use and expected behaviour.

Enough is enough. We will continue to protect the facility our community proudly calls home.

🔹General tidy-up

If you can spare a few hours, every helping hand makes a difference! Come along and help us get the grounds looking their best for the season ahead.

2026 Junior Championships – We Need You!

Softball SA is looking for passionate volunteers to help make the 2026 Junior Championships a fantastic experience for our players, coaches, officials and families.

We’re calling for Expressions of Interest for volunteers and members of the Championships Working Group. There are plenty of ways to get involved, from event planning and coordination through to helping on the ground across the championship weekend.
