As the curtain falls on our 2026 Women’s Division 1 season, we’d like to take a moment to recognise an incredible group of women who represented the Morphy Roos with pride, determination and heart every single week.

While we fell short of a top four finish, this season was about so much more than the ladder. It was built on commitment, resilience, friendships, growth and the relentless effort shown by every player, coach, volunteer and supporter.

This year also saw new faces become part of the Roo family and a number of players experience their very first season of football. Watching those players grow in confidence, develop their skills and embrace the game has been one of the highlights of the year, and it’s a reminder of what makes our club so special. Every player, regardless of experience, has played a part in shaping this season.

There were memorable wins, tough battles, milestones celebrated and countless moments that reflected what this club is all about. Every training session, every contest and every sacrifice helped continue the proud legacy of women’s football at Morphettville Park.

To our players – thank you for wearing the red and yellow with pride.

To our coaches, support staff, volunteers, sponsors and loyal supporters – thank you for your unwavering commitment throughout the season.

Our focus now turns to our Division 1 Reserves, who have earned their place in the finals series. We can’t wait to get behind them as they begin their finals campaign, and we encourage the entire Roo family to come along, make some noise and support the girls every step of the way.

Congratulations to everyone involved in our Division 1 program. Although our journey ends here, there is so much to be proud of and even more to look forward to. We’ll continue to grow, continue to build, and we’ll be back stronger.

100 games up for Xander, and a gutsy 1 point away win against CBC.

Jasper Clark kicking the winning goal with a minute left to bring up number 10 for the match. The B Grade also had a 1 point come from behind win and the C grade got the job done by 50 points.

The Women’s B Grade got the points against Angle Vale in a dominant display and will begin their finals campaign in 2 weeks time, while the A Grade came up 15 points short.

XANDER ALLISON - 100 GAMES
Congratulations to Xander Allison who will play his 100th Senior game tomorrow against CBC OC at 2.15pm.

Xander has played all his junior and senior footy at the club since 2013 and commenced playing seniors in 2021. When he started playing senior footy he was also lining up for the Under 17.5’s on a Sunday where he was a part of a Premiership winning side. Xander has developed his game over the last few seasons and his dedication has paid off with him now becoming an integral part of our A Grade team.

Xander has played 28 games in the A Grade, 70 games in the B Grade and 1 C Grade game. He has mainly played across the half back or wing and has kicked 13 senior goals.

He’s been a great club man, volunteering where possible and is currently coaching our Under 11 side with close mates Jordan Ritter and Michael Smith.

We look forward to Xander playing his 100th game tomorrow and him continuing to develop his game at A Grade level.

Yesterday we had a club first in the C grade. Three sets of brothers and also a father and son all playing in the one team. With over 1000 games played between them. Well done to Brenton & Kade Crosby, Jack & Jarrod McDermott, Martin & Damian Ruiz and Josh & Ben Aulert.
