💙 Meet Bruno

Originally from Brazil and a lifelong tennis player 🎾, Bruno first came across Play It On while looking for affordable sporting equipment himself.

Now he’s the friendly face behind the counter at our store, always ready with a smile and a “Hello, my friend” 😊

As Play It On’s Retail Shop Manager, Bruno sees firsthand just how important affordable sporting gear is for local families.

“Every week I see families walk through our doors not sure if they can afford to keep their kids in sport. By the time they leave, their child has boots, a racquet or a jersey - paying a fraction of the retail price - and they’re smiling.”

For Bruno, that’s what Play It On is all about.

Giving quality sporting gear a second life, keeping it out of landfill, and helping more kids get the chance to play.

“Every item sold here is one less thing thrown away, and one more kid who gets to play.”

A Play It On Board Director and mum of two, Farheen loves exploring Adelaide’s walking trails and finding great coffee spots with her husband ☕🌿

She believes everyone is born with something special to give back to the world and that belief is what drives her support for Play It On.

Originally from Bangladesh and now proudly calling South Australia home, Farheen brings a global perspective, and a whole lot of heart, to the organisation.

With more than 20 years working across communities around the world, she’s passionate about uplifting women, supporting young people and helping create opportunities for others to thrive.

Around the board table, she’s affectionately known as “World Wise” 🌏

“When Theresa shared the vision for Play It On, it immediately resonated with me. For me, it’s about standing united in supporting women like Theresa, and helping create opportunities for young people including girls, through sport.”

💙 As we wrap up week two of our campaign, we wanted to say a big thank you to this incredible community.

So far, together, we’ve raised just over $1,100 towards our goal of helping Play It On keep going and growing.

Every donation, every share, every comment and every conversation helps more than you know.

And while fundraising is important, another huge way people can support Play It On is simply by shopping with us and spreading the word.

What we’ve learned through the store is that affordable sporting gear matters a lot to families. For many, it’s not just registration fees that create pressure - it’s the constant cost of boots, shin guards, equipment and everything kids quickly grow out of.

Every time someone shops at Play It On, donates gear, or tells someone about us, it helps keep affordable sport accessible for more South Australian families.

And that’s why this matters.

Because every child deserves the chance to play and access to affordable gear shouldn’t be the barrier.
