A few of the oddities some of our Club members have been checking out this weekend. Bike Night at Mile End and Coffee and Cars at Blackwood.
Hi all. For those that haven’t met me yet I’m Shaun Casey, new President of The Cafe Racer Club. I’ve held most positions in the club over the years and was president from 2009-11 and I’ve held the position of secretary since the club reformed in 2023.
Over the last three years the committee has tried a number of initiatives to gain some traction in getting going again but for various reasons nothing has really taken on.
I stood as president with a very clear agenda that the club moves away from running race meetings, ride days and the politics of it. Organising road racing in Adelaide at this point in time is beyond our club. We will still be a club you can race under though.
I want to transition into a more social club and look at offering historic registration for our bikes AND cars as well as more focus on a broad array of social events. I’m thinking a broader church more in line with where the club started 40 odd years ago. Don’t worry we can still talk crap about racing and MotoGp at meetings. Infact I want to do more of that!
I’ve given myself a year to see what happens, if we can engage some more new and old members to participate and grow the club into a place for all the bike and car misfits to hang out and ride/ drive our toys.
If it doesn’t work out then we can discuss folding the club in a years time.
Hi all. AGM was last night and there was a change in committee. Hattie after 3 years guiding the club back into a functional entity again has decided to step down as President, as did Vice President John Snoad and Secretary Shaun Casey.
Elections were held and positions voted on.
President. Shaun Casey
VP. Chris Peake
Secretary. Michelle Snoad
Treasurer. Paul Stephens
Social and Rides. Eddie Janmaat and Marty Hockham
Special Projects. Rob Graham.
Particular thanks to Hattie, John, Marty and all on the previous committees over the last three years.
2026 AGM has been called. Wednesday 29th July at Cafe Va Bene 8/636 Lower North East Rd CAMPBELLTOWN SA. Dinner orders at 6:30pm and meeting starts around 7:30pm.
All committee positions will be declared vacant and minor changes to the constitution will be proposed in a brief SGM prior to the AGM. All members welcome.
Next General Meeting is this Wednesday night (24th) at Cafe Va Bene in Campbelltown starting 6:30pm for dinner and a chat. Meeting proper begins around 7:30pm. All old and new members welcome. Last meeting before the AGM.
