Pleased to announce that we were able to go for a guided walk through the site with Convic Skateparks and the City of Adelaide on Monday 😁

It's official! Major earthworks are nearly done, and the first concrete has been poured... the dream is becoming a reality, and progress should only get faster from here 🔥🔥🔥

I'll chuck a couple of sneaky photos of the site down in the comments...

Merry Xmas and a Happy New year everyone 🥳

💥SKATEPARK UPDATE💥

As you may already know, there have been delays that have impacted on the project completion date. We understand this has been disappointing, but are confident the final outcome will be worth the wait!!

Build stage 1 is complete, which was primary earthworks completed by BMD.

We are now moving into stage 2 with Convic Skateparks for the remainder of the build.

Convic are a trusted skate park designer and specialist contractor. As the original designer of the park, they have been working closely with the project from the concept stage.

Stage 2 construction is scheduled to begin in October 2021.

The skate park is on track for completion in early 2022...

HERE WE GOOOO 🥳🥳🥳

Good morning legends!! Thanks so much to everyone who keeps sending in messages of support, and to everyone who is sending in questions. It's great to see so many people still engaged and following the project. It's certainly been a long journey...

I'll be doing a public update regarding the status of the skatepark build very soon. I have recently been updated myself, but must wait for City Council to update and inform all stakeholders before we can make a public announcement 🤙

Thanks again for the support ❤

Update October 2020

Since February 2020, the design team have been further investigating the site conditions, which has identified significant site restrictions, including:
• 1.5m of uncontrolled fill present on the site
• Significant and regulated trees
• Expected contamination
• South Australia Power Networks and SA Water services
• Gradient and sloping site

To mitigate these restrictions they will:
• Remove and treat 1.5m of material from the site and put it back in compacted layers
• Retain all significant and regulated trees on site
• Address any contamination issues
• Maintain the integrity of existing power and water services at the site

CONCEPT DESIGN
The concept design is now complete: it sets out a vision for an inviting and family friendly City Skate Park that will cater for a range of disciplines and skill levels, and it will be a stand out destination within South Australia's skate park network.

The concept design, which considers the site constraints listed above and the feedback received through the consultation, is built around 6 key principles:
1. Trees: celebrate and maximise views
2. Working with topography & slope
3. Separate skate zones & skill levels
4. The plaza ‘centre piece’
5. Pathways + pocket parks
6. Vibrant + permeable spectator stations

Following the completion of the concept design and in order to meet expectations for the commencement of site works as soon as possible, detailed design is currently underway
and it is anticipated that works will commence on site by the end of 2020.

Skate parks are modernising across Australia, but are they any good? 11/10/2020

Super excited that things are well and truly kicking into gear!!

🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

Skate parks are modernising across Australia, but are they any good? Skaters are giving the tick of approval to a city skate park planned for Adelaide, but what makes a good facility and what will keep these high-performing street athletes coming back?
