There’s a nice little contradiction in Andrew’s story. He’s played golf for years, on courses around the world, yet Mount Osmond still gives him that feeling of finding something new.

The drive up. The birds. The views. The coffee before the first tee. And, ultimately, the people you play with and the friendships that grow around the game.

No AI. No reconstruction. This is Mount Osmond actually moving in the 1930s.

We’re used to meeting the Club’s earliest years through photographs. This is something much rarer: genuine moving footage of golfers on the course nearly a century ago.

The swings, the caps, the plus-fours… but what caught us most is the landscape behind them. Some parts feel unmistakably Mount Osmond. Others look almost completely unfamiliar.

So we’re handing this one over to the experts:
Can anyone work out exactly where on the course this was filmed?
Which fairway are we looking at? And even better: can you spot a tree in this footage that might still be standing today?

Here's something most golfers don't think about.

The bunkers at Mount Osmond get raked three times a week. Three times a week, the team is out there preparing the sand in the hazards, the places you're meant to avoid.

And they spend more time on those than on the greens.

The first Twilight of the season always feels like the unofficial start of summer at Mount Osmond.

Yesterday gave us the full version: perfect weather, the course glowing late into the afternoon, plenty of golf, a bit of rangefinder concentration, and then everyone gradually migrating back towards the clubhouse once the light started to disappear.

That’s probably the best thing about Twilight. The golf matters… but not quite enough to stop the stories getting better over dinner afterwards.

A pretty hard opening night to beat.

Throwback Thursday: “Finished” meant something slightly different in 1926. This was the completed road up Mount Osmond 100 years ago: a narrow gravel track winding through the gums, with a couple of very brave-looking cars making the climb.

The road still didn’t reach the clubhouse at this stage, that extension came later. And it wasn’t until 1960, during construction of the Mount Barker Freeway, that the approach to Mount Osmond was re-graded and paved.

Looking at it now, you have to admire anyone who arrived for a round with clean shoes, intact suspension and enough energy left to play 18 holes.
Different road. Different cars. Same destination.

A little bit of the Barossa came up the hill earlier this month. 🍷🥩

For our Torbreck Steak & W**e Lunch, MOGC Sous Chef Jono Walsh joined forces with his brother, Torbreck SA Sales Manager Chris Walsh, to build an afternoon around something fairly simple: great food, great w**e, and making sure the two actually belonged together.

Jono created the menu with the Torbreck selection in mind, while Chris took us through six w**es and a little of the thinking, vineyards and stories behind them.

48 members and guests joined us for the afternoon, making this our first w**e lunch in quite some time, and definitely not the last.

A really enjoyable afternoon at the Club, and a taste of the kind of smaller, special food and w**e experiences we’d love to do more of.

Twilight is back. 🌅⛳️

Thursday afternoons at Mount Osmond are about to get a whole lot better.

The Paradise Mazda Twilight Series returns from 8 October: late afternoon golf, some of the best views in Adelaide, dinner afterwards and a pretty good excuse to finish the day on the hill.

Tee times run from 3:30pm–5:30pm, with dinner and presentations to follow.

Opening season:
8 October – 17 December 2026

Then we’re back again:
7 January – 1 April 2027

Behind every round at Mount Osmond is a shed most golfers never see.

Nathan, our Facilities and Asset Manager, walks through the equipment that keeps the course running. Seven or eight different mowers, half a dozen chainsaws, half a dozen wippy snippers, spray rigs, tractors, blowers, and a Gator for getting around the course.

And yes, the club has its own petrol station.

It takes this much machinery to keep a mountain course playable. This is the arsenal behind 18 holes.
