In 1986, Pony Clubbers throughout SA were invited to and many involved in, the World Championships held at Gawler. This was a HUGE international event and started with a spectacular procession of horses down the centre of Adelaide. There was also the progression of the FEI Flag through the state where our Pony Clubbers moved the flag along the way.

I'm writing an article on this event as it's the 40th anniversary of it this year and I'm keen to get any insights, memories or recollections of anyone involved.

Big conversations, strong collaboration and an exciting step forward for Pony Club in Australia.

Our Play Well Participation Workshop brought together representatives from every state and territory to help shape the future of participation across our sport. It was all about coming together to share ideas, tackle challenges and build a national approach that keeps Pony Club accessible, relevant and thriving for young people around Australia.

A huge thank you to Meredith Kelly from the Australian Sports Commission and Anna Walker from From Now On for their guidance, and to everyone who contributed so thoughtfully to the discussions.

We’re looking forward to turning this momentum into action.
