It’s with a heavy heart that we infom our members of the devastating loss of one of our cherished members Sandy Sandhu.

Sandy was an extremely likeable and polite man, and quality cricketer.

An important part of our A grade for a number of seasons including our T20 championship in 2021

Our thoughts are with his family and close friends

JUST LIKE THAT the Junior season draws to a close.

A super successful season across all grades, some amazing individual and team performances. Our U12s stepping up out of U10s only lost 2 matches for the season, and our U14's only dropped the 1 match.

Our U10s who had their end of season awards night with our Cricket Blast got better and better each game.

Unfortuantely though, our 12s ran into a rampant Westies last night, to fall 13 runs short in their Semi.

In a year that has been so affected by rain (wet and heat), it's somewhat humerous that our 14s defending 214 today, were unable to get away due to rain, ending their season.

Thank you to all the parents, supporters and coaches that helped during the season - community clubs rely on that support to operate.

Special shout out to Daniel Hancock (U10s), Vishal Bhatt (U12s) and Shoeb Sunasra (U14s) for their unwavering support and effort.

Now we turn out attention to the Senior Mens season..

Cheers,
Bedge ❤

GOOD LUCK to our U12 side who tonight tackle Salisbury West in the Semi Final at home.

It's been a great season (albeit interupted with weather) for our 12s with a number coming up from U10s this year, and a few that had a tough year last season maturing and finding their place.

DAY ONE OF THE U14 SEMI FINAL is in the bank. Heading to Salisbury West Abdullah won the toss and decided to have a bat.

The side was impacted leading into the day with Imran (Ramadan), Henry (Sick), Dhyan (Study) and Adnan (Injured) all ruled out.

Still we soldiered on, Amit was pushed to the top of the order and had an immediate impact and he and Abdullah took 40 from the opening 4 overs.

The pair shared a 71 run stand before Abdullah was beaten by a good nut.

Caleb + Prab came and went quickly, Amit reached 50 and retired, and we began looking little shaky before Arth & Ansh knuckled down and got to work on another healthy partnership. 78 runs added before Arth was on his way.

Patrick joined Ansh, as Ansh worked towards his first ever 50, and played a pivotal supporting role. Ansh retired, Gurnoor dismissed for 1 and when Patrick had left another 40 had been added and we were 196.

Nihir swung the bat added valuable runs, young Reyansh from U12 stuck around at the crease allowing the bigger boys to keep the runs ticking over, eventually day ending with 214 on the board.

Great team orientated innings with contributions and key partnerships all the way through.

THE ROAD TO REDEMPTION begins this weekend when our 14s travel to tackle the mighty cricket factory of Salisbury West.

After falling short last year in the Grand Final to a powerhouse Eyre Royals side, our U14's find themselves once again at the pointy end of the season, completing a stellar minor round only dropping one match to qualify for the Semi Finals, and a crack at going one better than last year.

BIG WEEKEND OF JUNIOR CRICKET

Started Friday night at Thomas Turner with the U10s producing a hard fought 11 run win against Adelaide Warriors, with the match going down to the last couple overs. Young Malav from the Warriors (26 from 16) looked like stealing the win for the opposition, but the boys kept their heads to hold on.

Every player scored runs, with 6 players reaching double figures.

Over to Gepps Cross for the top of the table clash against the undefeated North Pines and another thriller! This game going down to the last ball, with the team requiring 2 runs for the win, and Adnan who has had a huge season, hitting the winning runs.

Kenil with 21no though was the catalyst for the chase, keeping a calm head and guiding the team through the chase.

Earlier it was Lachlan Bobridge who did the damage, removing the dangerous Reyman Guru cheaply, before sending back the #3 Digvijay a few balls later to have the Redbacks reeling at 2/27.

Saturday came around and the 14s continued on their merry way, this time bowling out ATCO for 98 thanks largely to a partnership between Patrick Luyten and Henry Kalisch that yielded 5/13 in 4 overs to rattle the Hornets. In reply, the side batted the overs to finish 198. Ansh Ohri with 44 the main man with the bat.

12 overs left to play, and the aim was to try and get 4 wickets - alas only got the 2 as ATCO dug in and showed great heart.

Nearly a memorable moment though, Henry on a hat trick from the 1st innings came in, forced the error from the batsman, unfortunately fell only metres short of the fielder Ansh, who then thinking quickly collected and completed a run out.

The 14's have now only lost 1 minor round match in 2 seasons, and look well positioned for another return to finals.

Finally, the U16's closed the day out in the Men's LO8 competition. Batting first the good guys piled on a massive 6/286 - Aksat Duiwala a return to form with 85 not out anchored the innings, whilst Abdul Rehman finally delivered on potential hitting 67 as the two 16s shared a 134 run partnership.

In reply Athelstone weren't ever really in the game, despite a flamboyant 74 from their middle order batsman Poojan. Laoutaris with 3 wickets, whilst Browning, Aksat and Prabhbir all picked up 2.

Only other junior mention is Ansh who played B Grade (LO3), taking a sharp catch at square leg then came on to rip through the Parafield middle order, collecting 2/7 off 4 overs.

600!!!! Six Hundred! 6️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ 🔥🎆

CONGRATULATIONS to life member Adam Gully who took his 600th wicket for the club in a hard fought win against Adelaide Warriors.

Gully becomes only the 3rd player in almost 100yrs of club history to pass 600, the first non-spinner.. and the first that’s not a Johnson! 🤣

Only a few balls later Gully moved to 601 as he sets his sights on the all time record.

Get around him ❤️
