Your Google Business Profile, properly optimised 27/05/2026

Today is offer day in The Hypnotherapists Business Pulse.

This week we've worked through what Google's new AI search means for self-employed hypnotherapists relying on local clients. We've landed on the same place we keep coming back to — a properly optimised Google Business Profile, working in step with your website, is the foundation for everything that follows.

If you've been reading this week and thinking yes, I understand, but I'm not going to be the one to do this work — today's article is for you.

Four spots. One filled. Three remaining. USD $750, one-time.

Actually — here’s the good news for hypnotherapists 26/05/2026

Here's the part of last week's Google announcement almost no one outside the SEO world is talking about.

When Google's AI Overviews first rolled out in 2023, they appeared on one hundred percent of local "near me" healthcare searches.

By December 2025, that number had dropped to zero.

Not low. Zero.

For self-employed hypnotherapists relying on local clients, that single statistic changes the whole conversation. Today's article walks you through why — and what it means for the next twelve months.

Actually — here’s the good news for hypnotherapists The decision Google quietly made about local search which affects every hypnotherapist looking for local clients.

Is this just going to get harder to keep up with? 25/05/2026

If your honest first reaction to yesterday's news was "I can barely keep up with what's already out there — and now this?" — you are not alone.

AI Overviews. AI Mode. The new intelligent search box. Agents that search while you sleep.

That feeling of "how bad is my situation, actually?" is the most reasonable response in the world.

Today's article sits with that question — and offers a way to find out.

Is this just going to get harder to keep up with? A fair question, with a calmer answer than you’d expect

24/05/2026

Last Tuesday Google announced what they're calling the biggest change to their search box in over twenty-five years.

Their words. Not mine.

If you've been seeing the headlines and wondering what this actually means for a self-employed hypnotherapist relying on local clients — that's what this week of The Hypnotherapists Business Pulse is about.

Today's article walks you through the announcement itself, the link to Google's own blog post, and a clear signal of what changes for you across the week ahead.

It's time for another Weekend Challenge. 🌊

The Local Signal Check

This week we've been talking about how Google can only recommend a business it can place — and why "everywhere" is one of the hardest places in the world to be found.

So this weekend, we're going to actually look. At your own website. With clear eyes.

No SEO tools. No agency. No overwhelm.

Just one service page. Six quick checks. And the opportunities you find.

That's it.

How to:
1 Pick one service page from your website — whichever feels most important to you right now, or the one you most want to bring you enquiries

2 Open it in your browser so you can see it properly

3 Run through the six-point check below and tick the ones that pass

4 Notice what opportunities you found

5 Share in the comments

P.S. There are no wrong answers here. A page that scores low is still a useful page. It's just telling you something worth knowing — and something fixable.

Your six checks — give yourself one tick for each yes:

- URL — Does the web address of the page include your town, city or area? (For example, /anxiety-hypnotherapy-brighton rather than just /anxiety.)

- Page title — Does the main heading at the top of the page name a place? This is the line a visitor sees first, in the largest text. If it just says "Anxiety Hypnotherapy" with no location, that's a no.

- Subheadings — Does at least one of the smaller headings further down the page name a place? Subheadings carry real weight with Google. If none of them anchor the page to a location, the signal is thinner than it looks.

- Opening paragraph — Does the very first paragraph on the page mention your area? Not buried halfway down — in the opening lines, where Google and your reader both look first.

- Body of the page — Does the location appear at least once more somewhere in the rest of the page content? Repetition isn't padding. It's how Google confirms that the place mentioned at the top wasn't an accident.

- Footer — Scroll to the very bottom of the page. Does the footer name your area? Ideally with your business name, address, and phone number sitting together — but even a clear mention of your town counts. The footer appears on every page of your site, so this one tick quietly works sitewide.

Template:
"I checked my [service name] page. It scored [number] out of 6. It's missing location at: [list the spots]."

Examples:
"I checked my anxiety page. It scored 2 out of 6. It's missing location at: page title, subheadings, opening paragraph, body."

"I checked my quit smoking page. It scored 5 out of 6. It's missing location at: the URL."

"I checked my insomnia treatment page. It scored 1 out of 6. It's missing location at: URL, title, subheadings, opening paragraph, footer."

"I checked my weight management page. It scored 6 out of 6. It's missing location at: nowhere — but my other service pages haven't been checked yet."

While you are on a roll, why not check your other service pages too?

Have fun!
Ernest

Build the Foundation First — Then Expand With a Plan 20/05/2026

All week I've made the case for building a local foundation before expanding online. So today I answer the obvious question: how do you actually expand?

And the honest answer is — it depends entirely on where you're standing right now. No two hypnotherapists start from the same place, which is why there's no single five-step list that works for everyone.

For practitioners who are serious about expanding properly — in the right order — today's article introduces something new I've put together to help.

Build the Foundation First — Then Expand With a Plan Why the right approach depends entirely on where you’re standing now.

"If I worked online, I could help people anywhere."

It's a thought almost every hypnotherapist has. And it makes complete sense — until the website says "worldwide," the local details come out, and the enquiries quietly stop arriving.

This week's video is about what's actually going on. Why Google needs to be able to place your business before it can recommend it. And why local visibility isn't a limit you've outgrown — it's the foundation everything else gets built on.

Watch the full video.

Local Visibility Is a Foundation, Not a Ceiling 19/05/2026

Nobody builds the third storey of a house first.

The foundation goes in — unglamorous, invisible, the part nobody admires — and everything else rests on it. The foundation isn't what limits the building's height. It's what makes height possible at all.

Local visibility is that foundation. And today's article is about getting the order right: you don't expand instead of going local. You expand from it.
