Sunday Stretch 🧘‍♂️💪

After a big week of training, it’s time to give those shoulders some love! 🙌

This week’s Sunday Stretch at EFM Health Clubs Glenelg focuses on a simple but effective Shoulder Stretch to help reduce tightness, improve mobility and support better posture.

Why shoulder mobility matters:

✅ Helps improve movement and flexibility
✅ Reduces muscle tightness and tension
✅ Supports better posture and upper body function
✅ Can help decrease the risk of injury
✅ Great recovery tool after workouts

Stretch Tip:

Hold the stretch gently for 20–30 seconds each side and focus on slow, controlled breathing. Remember — stretching should feel relieving, not painful. 🙌

Thursday Trainer’s Tip 💨

Breathing properly during exercise can make a HUGE difference to your performance, strength, and recovery. 💪

At EFM Health Clubs Glenelg we often remind members that good breathing technique helps you stay controlled, generate power, and avoid unnecessary fatigue during workouts.

This Week’s Trainer Tip:

🔥 Don’t hold your breath while exercising!

A simple rule to remember:

✅ Breathe OUT during the hardest part of the movement
✅ Breathe IN during the easier part of the movement

For example:
🏋️ Squats — breathe out as you stand up
💪 Push-ups — breathe out as you push away from the floor
🏃 Cardio — focus on steady, controlled breathing rhythms

Why proper breathing matters:

✔️ Helps deliver oxygen to your muscles
✔️ Improves performance and endurance
✔️ Keeps your core stable and engaged
✔️ Reduces dizziness and fatigue
✔️ Helps you stay calm and focused

High Protein, Low Calorie Garlic Chicken & Veggie Bowl 🥗🍗

Looking for a meal that’s packed with protein, low in calories, and full of flavour? This easy Garlic Chicken & Veggie Bowl is perfect for busy weekdays, post-workout recovery, or healthy meal prep! 💪

Fresh, filling, and loaded with nutrients — exactly the kind of fuel your body deserves. 🙌

Ingredients (Serves 2)
400g lean chicken breast, sliced
1 tsp olive oil
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 zucchini, sliced
1 capsicum, sliced
1 cup broccoli florets
1 cup cauliflower rice
1 tsp paprika
Salt & pepper to taste
Juice of half a lemon
Fresh parsley to garnish
Method

1️⃣ Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
2️⃣ Add garlic and chicken breast, season with paprika, salt and pepper. Cook until golden and fully cooked through.
3️⃣ Add zucchini, capsicum and broccoli, stirring until vegetables are tender but still crisp.
4️⃣ In a separate pan, lightly cook cauliflower rice for 3–4 minutes.
5️⃣ Serve chicken and veggies over cauliflower rice.
6️⃣ Finish with fresh lemon juice and parsley.

💚 LOWER BACK STRETCH 💚

Feeling tight, stiff, or sore after a busy week?
This week’s Sunday Stretch focuses on helping release tension in the lower back and improving mobility 🙌

✨ KNEE TO CHEST STRETCH ✨

This simple stretch is fantastic for:
✅ Relieving lower back tension
✅ Improving flexibility & mobility
✅ Reducing stiffness
✅ Supporting better posture
✅ Helping the body relax and recover

💡 HOW TO DO IT:
1️⃣ Lie flat on your back with knees bent
2️⃣ Bring one knee gently toward your chest
3️⃣ Keep the opposite foot flat on the floor
4️⃣ Hold for 20–30 seconds
5️⃣ Swap sides and repeat

🔥 Trainer Tip:
Move slowly, breathe deeply, and never force the stretch. Gentle and controlled movement is the key to long-term mobility and recovery.
