β’ Rd1 VCS - Ballarat β’
The opening round of the VCS saw some standout performances and a few unfortunate setbacks across the board.
In the Tag Restricted Medium category, Paul Pittam delivered a flawless performance, claiming victory in every race and cementing his dominance throughout the weekend. His consistent speed and precision left no doubt that he is one to watch in the series.
Andrew Chapman, despite showing impressive pace, faced a string of bad luck. A series of unfortunate incidents saw him fall to 9th in the final, but his potential was evident as he fought back through the pack. With a bit more luck, heβs sure to be a contender in future rounds.
Over in the KA3 Junior class, Scarlett Pittam faced a tough weekend, battling engine issues that hampered her performance. Unfortunately, she was unable to finish the final, but with the right adjustments, she will be looking to bounce back in the upcoming rounds.
Meanwhile, Des Harral raced with determination, steadily improving throughout the weekend. His efforts paid off as he finished a respectable 10th in the final, showing strong progress and potential for the rest of the season.
In the Cadet 9 category, Max King started the weekend off the pace but quickly found his rhythm after some fine-tuning. By the time the final came around, he had worked his way up to a top 3 starting position. However, a racing incident in the final saw his hopes dashed, and he was unable to finish. Despite this, Maxβs development throughout the weekend shows promise for future rounds.
While the weekend had its share of highs and lows, the first round of the VCS proved to be a solid foundation for the team. With plenty of potential and room for improvement, everyone is eager to build on this strong start as they look ahead to the rest of the series.
