A1 GRAND FINAL RESULT

4-PEAT! 🩵🏆🩵🏆🩵🏆🩵🏆

A resilient and patient Goodwood chased down 284 in the 78th over to secure back-to-back-to-back-to-back A1 ATCA Premier Grade Premierships and in doing so, claim the club’s 48th ATCA premiership.

Alfie led from the front with a superb 92 (130), while Hutchison played a decisive innings yet again in a GF with an unbeaten 65* (57) at better than a run a ball. Earlier contributions from Dawson (34) and Chislett (28) ensured the chase remained on track, with the target set by Port District was passed seven wickets down.

Thank you once again for all the support across the weekend and throughout the season. Shout out to all who played a role in the Premiership both on and off the field, sponsors and those supporting the club from afar and abroad. You should all be proud of what was achieved today at Goodwood Oval.

Go Roos! 🩵💙🦘

A1 Grand Final progress scores

Port District won the toss and elected to bat, putting together a solid day with 284, eventually bowled out in the final over. A below par day in the field for the Roos, with multiple dropped catches that gave the visitors more time at the crease.

Short with 3 key wickets, while Ludlam and Chislett each chipped in with two, both bowling many overs. A notable effort from Oil Jackson, whose 21.3 overs of 1/51 proved crucial in keeping the total under 300.

Play resumes at 12:20pm tomorrow for Day 2, the final day of cricket for the season. Let’s see and hear plenty of support at Goodwood Oval and chase the runs down. Go Roos! 🩵💙🦘

Jason Scroop – 7000 Runs

In the closing rounds of the season, Jason Scroop brought up a large milestone, surpassing 7,000 career runs across more than 30 years at Goodwood. A further 149 runs from 10 innings this season saw him edge past the mark.

Since joining the club over three decades ago as a wicketkeeper, Jason began in the limited overs side before catapulting to A’s & B’s, and in recent seasons has been playing across variety of ATCA grades.

Along this cricket journey, he has become a three time premiership player, and a premiership captain. His standout season came in 2017/18, amassing 514 runs with the willow.

Jason now sits 9th on the club’s all time run scorers list, having recently moved past David Lee with 7,014 runs. With Ian Jaggard on 7,275 runs in 7th place Jason could soon be near Jags, depending how the body holds up.

Andrew Stockley – 500 Wickets

Starting the season on 472 wickets, Andrew “Stockers” Stockley left it until the final game to bring up a remarkable 500, finishing with 28 wickets in B1 for the year.

It’s a significant milestone, fittingly capped off by being named Dual Club Champion for the 2025/26 season. The honour adds to an already impressive record, including three 40+ wicket seasons and last year’s club-record haul of 61.

This season also marked his return to two-day cricket after several years leading our limited-overs side, making the achievement even more impressive particularly given his consistency this season with both the bat and ball.

On the all-time bowling list, Stockers now sits 15th and is closing in on Andrew Summerton and Brad Muggleton, both just beyond the 500, and only 614 behind R.Cole.

Congratulations to Stockers on reaching 500 wickets, a superb achievement, and no doubt with more still to come.

A1 Semi Final Result

Day Two: After having the Dolphins in early trouble at 6/35, with Ludlam doing the damage up top, the fins mounted a strong fightback. Jasper Davidson led the charge brilliantly with five wickets, but the target ultimately proved just out of reach for the fins.

The Roos now progress into next weekend’s Grand Final against Port District, with Goodwood chasing a remarkable fourth premiership in a row.

Thanks to everyone who came out and supported across both days. 🩵💙🦘
