🚴‍♀️💙 BMX Feel Good Friday Story – Girls Supporting Girls 💙🚴‍♀️

This is one we absolutely love!

Meet Matilda and Brooke — two incredible young riders who perfectly demonstrate what BMX is all about.

Matilda has been a member of Cross Keys BMX Club for many years and has grown into not only a talented racer (current state champion), but also a kind, encouraging and respectful young woman. Lately, we've loved watching her give back to the younger riders at the club. Whether it's offering advice, sharing encouragement, or celebrating someone else's success, Matilda is always building riders up and helping them believe in themselves.

Brooke recently joined the club and is currently the Australian National Champion in 8 Girls. Welcome to the club Brooke and family!

For young female riders, finding other girls to train alongside can sometimes be challenging. Gate sessions can feel a little lonely when there aren't many riders your age or gender around. That's where Matilda stepped in.

While preparing for her own National Championships campaign in 15 Girls, Matilda regularly took Brooke under her wing. She offered guidance, shared race knowledge, provided encouragement, and helped build Brooke's confidence at every gates session. What started as simple acts of support quickly became something much more meaningful.

That support carried through to the National Championships and National Series rounds, where Matilda continued to help Brooke warm up, prepare and strategise before races — all while managing her own racing commitments.

The result? Brooke rode with confidence, trusted the advice she had been given, and achieved an incredible result by winning and being crowned the 8 Girls National BMX Champion. 🏆

Matilda probably doesn't realise just how much of an impact she had, but the encouragement, support and attention of an older rider can make a huge difference in a young rider's development, confidence and enjoyment of the sport.

One of the most special moments came after Brooke's win. Matilda was one of the very first people to congratulate her, and Brooke couldn't wait to celebrate the moment with someone who had helped her so much along the way.

This is what we love about BMX.

It's more than racing. It's more than results. It's friendships, mentorship, community and riders supporting riders.

To Matilda — thank you for leading by example and showing what giving back to the BMX community looks like. Keep it up 🫶

And to Brooke — Congratulations on an amazing achievement. We're excited to watch your BMX journey continue.

Coming to racing on Wednesday nights?! We’ll be giving away a FREE pack of cards every week during the racing break. The only catch? You need to take part in the lucky spot draw! The first spot drawn from the bucket wins.
One spot = one prize. No additional prizes will be awarded. Riders must be standing alone to be eligible.

A great way for the kids to get excited about BMX, build friendships, and enjoy collecting and trading cards with their mates at the track!

Canteen has you covered for dinner tonight! Pasta Bolognese, Chicken Burgers, Beef Cheese Burgers are on the menu tonight! All the usuals still available - hot chips and gravy, dim sims, chiko rolls, kids nugget pack, noodles, tea/coffee/hot chocolate.

🚨 PLEASE NOTE: Due to volunteer availability unfortunately we will not be able to run the 6-6.30pm session for beginners and new riders tonight. Our 6.30pm-8pm open gates session will still proceed.

New riders that are competent at starting from the gate are welcome to attend the session.

🚴‍♂️🔥 Results from Round 3 & 4 of the National Series! 🔥🚴‍♂️

Tyson, Cooper and Dysen travelled to Macarthur BMX Club over the weekend to compete in Rounds 3 & 4 of the National Series, which also doubled as the second qualifier for the 2026 UCI BMX World Championships. 🌎🏁

A HUGE congratulations to Tyson on officially qualifying for the 2026 UCI BMX World Championships this July! 👏💪
After battling back from injury, Tyson has put in an incredible amount of hard work and determination, and we couldn’t be prouder of what he has achieved.

Dysen had already secured his qualification for the 2026 UCI BMX World Championships at Nationals back in April! 🌟
Unfortunately Cooper narrowly missed out on qualifying for Worlds, but his effort, determination and progression throughout the weekend certainly didn’t go unnoticed. Keep pushing, Cooper 👊

The boys faced some seriously tough competition across the weekend and represented Cross Keys BMX Club with pride. We couldn’t be prouder of all three riders 🔥

It’s was once again fantastic to see members from other clubs jumping in to help out. That kind of support and community spirit is what BMX is all about, and it’s great to see clubs supporting one another.
