INTENTION - Improve effectiveness of off-ball screens.

CONSTRAINTS - Offence can’t dribble or shoot lay ups (except back cuts). If they weren’t able to get open on the initial action, they can re-trigger by throwing back to the passer and using the off-ball screen again.

IMPORTANT - Any action or move is only as effective as your ability to read what it does to the defence and what it affords you. Perception 🔄 Action

For my coaches out there who hate repeating themselves. This is a beauty - before explaining a drill or concept.

Say “someone is going to explain this back to the group”

The mere thought of not knowing what to say when called upon, will do wonders for players retaining information.

As with everything, there are caveats in how people learn, but this cuts out a lot of the day dreaming! Give it a shot.

Self Organisation

An underlying principle that governs what we do at Adapt.

Conscious interference (e.g “keep your elbow in”) when trying to execute a skill like shooting, in the chaos of a game is detrimental to performance.

Teaching players to focus externally and trust their ability to make subtle (often subconscious) adjustments - opposed to overhauling their shot every miss - is how we’re building adaptable and confident shooters!
