ROUND 5 WRAP UP ๐ฅ๐ฆ
A massive weekend for the Lions with our Division 2 side securing their first win of the 2026 season in a hard-fought 8.5 (53) to 3.2 (20) victory over Hope Valley. After a tough start to the year, the team responded in the best possible way with a four-quarter effort built on pressure, contest and teamwork.
A huge congratulations to M. Clark, I. Ebert and M. Hewitson who were recognised among the best players in a breakthrough win that gives the group plenty of confidence heading into the next block of games.
Our Division 2 Reserves also continued their strong form with a solid 4.7 (31) to 0.4 (4) win over Hope Valley. M. Connell, Z. Thompson and S. Wilkshire led the way as the team continues to push themselves firmly into the top end of the ladder.
The club also celebrated a special milestone over the weekend with senior player Isabella Ebert proudly presented with the iconic number 7 guernsey.
The number 7 guernsey is synonymous with her grandfather Russell Ebert. He wore this number throughout the vast majority of his illustrious 392-game career with the Port Adelaide Magpies in the SANFL, as well as during his single VFL/AFL season with North Melbourne in 1979.
