Celebrating National Volunteer Week and its theme 'Your Year to Volunteer', volunteers joined board members Alison and Trang to recognize and thank sports volunteers for their remarkable dedication. The Office for Recreation Sport and Racing hosted the event at the South Australian Sports Institute (SASI), where Liz Ellis, Netball Australia Chair and ex-Australian Diamonds captain, delivered the keynote address.

Reminder, the Adelaide Marathon is on today and there may be some roads blocked and that many hands make light work so any assistance with set up and pack up at the competition is much appreciated!

🚨🚨🚨 ENTRY ALERT 🚨🚨🚨

The Australian Fencing Federation will open selections for the 2026 Senior, Veteran & U23 Commonwealth Fencing Championships immediately following the AFC4 event in Sydney this weekend.

The Championships will be held in Lagos, Nigeria from 9–19 August at Charterhouse School, featuring individual events across Senior, Veteran and U23 categories.

AFC4 results will be included in the selection process, with initial selections conducted through the FASS system based on current Australian rankings. Athletes will receive further information via email on Monday.

Athletes without a ranking can still apply by completing the non-designated event form.

Entries close Sunday 26 April.

Please note this is a non-designated event. While AFF will manage selection and entries, all travel and event arrangements must be organised individually. Volunteer Team Managers will be appointed from travelling members to provide support.
