We are seeking Expressions of Interest from individuals who would like to be involved in the development of amputee soccer in South Australia.

Amputee soccer is a modified and inclusive version of the worldโ€™s most popular sport, designed for people with limb difference or limb loss. It promotes physical activity, confidence, connection, and community, and is played globally at both social and elite levels.

Our focus is on building a welcoming, sustainable, community-based program that allows participants to engage in soccer in a supportive and accessible environment.

We are currently forming a steering committee to help guide the establishment of social amputee soccer in the northern suburbs of Adelaide, with a long-term vision to expand across Adelaide and eventually contribute to a national competition model.

We are particularly interested in hearing from people who:
โ–ช๏ธHave experience serving on a board or committee
โ–ช๏ธHave a passion for soccer or sport (playing, coaching, officiating, or supporting)
โ–ช๏ธPossess administrative, governance, finance, marketing, community engagement, or project management skills
โ–ช๏ธHave lived experience of disability or inclusive sport (not essential but welcomed)

This steering committee will help shape how the program is delivered, supported, funded, and sustained into the future.

If you are interested in being involved, please email us with a brief description of:
โ–ช๏ธYour background and relevant experience
โ–ช๏ธYour interest in amputee soccer or inclusive sport
โ–ช๏ธHow you feel you could contribute to a steering committee

We welcome expressions from people of all backgrounds and experiences who are motivated to help grow inclusive sport in our community.

Come and join the Amputee Soccer Federation Australia at the West Adelaide Community Disability Expo as we launch our first 'come & try' event for Amputee Soccer. Amputee soccer is a first growing sport governed by the World Amputee Football Federation and now being played in over 60 countries across the world. Australia has been lagging behind as the sport is just getting started but as the saying goes 'better late than never'.

We're committed to promoting this sport here in South Australia before spreading it across the nation as our long term goal. We're greatful for the City of Charles Stuart for giving us this opportunity to engage with the public to create awareness for Amputee Soccer and we hope to collaborate and partner with other councils so that we can reach out to as many people as possible.

At this level we're aiming to create a social league that is open for amputees, able bodied athletes and all members of the public interested to join the sport as we strive to create an elite team that will represent Australia in all WAFF and Asian Confederation of Amputee Football international events. This level of events only allow athletes with limb differences to participate.

In that regard, we would like to ask any member of the public that has a pair of forearm crutches that they're not using and are happy to donate to the Federation to get intouch via the provided email address and or phone numbers.

We look forward to seeing you all at the St Clair Recreation Center on the 11th February for the West Adelaide Community Disability Expo.

Amputee soccer is just getting started in Australia, and as a federation, our vision and mission are clear. Both our short- and long-term plans will soon be shared across our social media platforms.

We have big dreams โ€” and even bigger determination. Most importantly, itโ€™s time for all amputees who have long yearned to play soccer to finally have their chance. Their dreams, though delayed, remain valid.

Now is the time to rise, to conquer, and to show the world that we are not only ready to promote this beautiful sport but also to empower every player who will be part of it.

Together, weโ€™re building more than a team โ€” weโ€™re building a movement. ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’›
