The Robyn Chaplin Memorial Tournament will be hosted by Fencing SA this year and held at The Lights Community and Sports Centre, located in Lightsview, South Australia, from November 29th to December 1st.

ROBYN CHAPLIN
This fencing tournament is named in honour of Robyn Margaret Chaplin, O.A.M. for her contribution to South Australian and Australian Fencing and Australian Sport in general.

Robyn's achievements include:
* First female president of any State Fencing Association (1971-1988).
* First female president of the AFF (1976-1980).
* Life Member of the Australian Fencing Federation.
* Vice President of the Commonwealth Fencing Federation (1976-1980)
* Australia's delegate to the Federation lnternationale d'Escrime (1976-1980 and 1990-1998).
* South Australian Sports Advisory Council (1976-1979 and 1982-1984).
* Founding Director of the Confederation of Australian Sport. Fellowship awarded by the Confederation in 1989.
* Fencing's delegate to the Australian Olympic Committee, the first female delegate to represent an individual sport at this forum.
* Assistant Team Manager (for women) at the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games.
* Chairperson of the South Australian Olympic Council (1978-1981), the first female chair of a State Olympic Council in the world.

The Robyn Chaplin Memorial Tournament AFC1 will be held over two weekends this year. The first in Sydney for the Foil and Sabre events on the 11th & 12th March and in Melbourne for the Epee events on the 18th & 19th March.

For the first time in decades there will be no Australian Fencing tournament in Adelaide over the June long weekend.

Fencing SA will be hosting the Australian Open & Oceania and Australian Veterans Championships in late November 2022.
