Father’s Day & the final hit-out of Season ’26! 🦅

This Sunday, the Modbury Hawks Masters take on East Hectorville Demons AFL Masters Football Club for one last run around before the bodies are officially sent in for their end-of-season service. 😂

The hamstrings are hanging on by a thread, knees are held together with tape, and getting out of bed Monday morning now counts as recovery training.

But there’s one game left, so load up on the Deep Heat, find the least-sore body part and let’s finish Season ’26 properly!

Bring the family, make a day of it and enjoy some Father’s Day footy — because nothing says Happy Father’s Day like Dad spending Sunday afternoon pretending he’s still 25. 🍻🏉

We like to do things a little differently at Modbury Football Club - Hawks - AFL Masters SA 🍻

Most clubs wait until the season is actually finished before holding their End of Year Celebrations. Not us. We still had two games to go and thought the ideal preparation for today’s game was to hold it the day before. 🫡

All for a good cause though — getting around the Modbury Seniors for their final home game of the year, while enjoying a few “quiet” lemonades 🍋🍺 and engaging in some extremely intellectual, well-researched and completely sensible conversations as the day progressed. 🤥

A cracking day/night with the lads. Plenty of laughs, plenty of questionable stories and, remarkably, everyone made it through in one piece.

Just a short trip up the road to Pertaringa Oval to take on Gawler Districts Masters.

It’s a double header, with Gullies v South providing the curtain raiser 😉 before the main event — what’s sure to be an epic showdown

Only 3 games to go in the 2026 season, so let’s finish strong. It was great to see some fresh faces (not-so-fresh bodies! 😆) out there last weekend.
