Some homeschooling, gymnastics, multiple coffees, a very cheeky dog who thinks every walk is the best day of his life, and yes, some client work squeezed in there too.

It's not always this smooth, but days like this are exactly why I do it the way I do.

Being there for the fun stuff and still getting my own thing done.

In 2018, I was supposed to go back to work.

My year of maternity leave was up. But I so deeply and desperately did not want to miss out on any of my baby’s moments. I wanted to be fully present as a mum. To be there for him. Constantly.

Then, at the dining table one morning, my husband said “what if we sell my car, buy a cheaper 2nd car, and pocket the $10K difference to pay for another year off work?”

I felt terrified, but I knew I couldn’t say no. So I leapt. And I got my 2nd year off.

Last month we spent the day in front of the camera with the lovely Rachel from Little Oak Studio and what a fun one it was.

Rachel always makes the whole thing so easy though, plenty of laughs and zero pressure.

We can't wait to show you the finished product.

In 2016, I watched a close friend go through a traumatic birth. Then I heard almost the same story from another friend who had a baby. And I knew I wanted to do everything in my power to choose a different path for myself.

That led me to completing a hypnobirthing course when I was pregnant and having an amazing and positive birth.

Knowing we want something different is the first step.

I’m hoping to share more times over the next few weeks where I have chosen the different path and it has paid off… Stay tuned!
