A couple of little moments around the clinic this week made us smile ❤️
A sticker left on a desk: “Unbreakable – Mental Health Warriors” 💪
A handwritten note on the fridge: “Have a beautiful day & remember to fuel your body + mind…”
Such simple things - but they say so much.
At Mindful Pathways, we know that strong, supportive workplaces aren’t built on big gestures alone. They’re built in the everyday moments… the quiet acts of care, the kind reminders, the small ways we look out for each other.
These are the things that create connection. And connection is what helps teams feel grounded, supported, and able to show up fully for the people they care for.
We’re so grateful for a team that brings this kind of energy into the space every day ❤️

On Anzac Day, we are holding deep respect and gratitude for the veterans and families we have the honour of working with through Open Arms.
Today is about remembrance - but it’s also about understanding the ongoing experiences of service, sacrifice and loss that many live with every day.
Being invited into these stories is a privilege we at Mindful Pathways never take lightly. We are continually inspired by the strength, honesty and humanity of the people we meet in this work.
If this day brings up hard memories or emotions, support is available day and night. ❤️

Today is Anzac Day, a day where we stand together as Australians to remember the service and sacrifice of those who have served, and continue to serve, our nation.
It is an opportunity for ordinary Australians to join current serving personnel, veterans and the families of veterans, to honour the past, understand the present and wish for a peaceful future for us all.
We know that it can be a difficult day for some and bring up painful memories.
For free, military-aware mental health support for veterans and their immediate family, contact us day or night.

World Earth Day 🌱
A gentle reminder that caring for our minds and caring for our planet go hand in hand.
Pause.
Breathe.
Step outside.
Even small moments in nature can help calm our nervous system and bring us back to ourselves ❤️
How are you connecting with the earth today?

Love this idea - and the psychology behind it 👏
This article from Mamamia highlights the rising trend of “life admin parties” - where people get together to tackle those nagging tasks like emails, forms, bookings, and paperwork…together.
And while it might sound like a cute social trend, there’s actually a really solid psychological concept underpinning it: Body doubling.
As the article explains, body doubling - working alongside someone else - is a well-known strategy, particularly helpful for people with ADHD and other neurodivergent profiles.
It’s something I use often in my own life — whether it’s cleaning the house alongside my husband or showing up to a weekly writing group. There’s something powerful about shared presence that makes it easier to begin…and to keep going.
We’re now seeing this idea move from informal coping strategy into mainstream awareness, and that’s exciting.
Because research and theory suggest that having at least one other person present can:
✨ Reduce procrastination and task avoidance
✨ Increase focus and follow-through
✨ Provide gentle accountability
✨ Lower the emotional barrier to getting started
In fact, this taps into a broader psychological principle called social facilitation - where the presence of others can enhance performance on everyday tasks.
What I love most about this trend is that it:
✔ Normalises how hard “simple” tasks can feel
✔ Reduces shame and isolation
✔ Builds connection and productivity at the same time
For many neurodivergent people, the challenge isn’t knowing what to do -
it’s initiating and sustaining the task.
And sometimes, the difference isn’t more discipline…it’s simply not doing it alone.
Such a great example of how community-based, low-pressure supports can make a meaningful difference ❤️

Thursday was Social Prescribing Day.
There’s a myth that psychologists can’t prescribe - but the truth is, we prescribe a lot… just not medication.
Social prescribing reminds us that wellbeing isn’t created in isolation - and that loneliness, stress, and emotional overwhelm often need community‑based, human responses, not just clinical ones.
Every recommendation has a purpose:
✨ a therapeutic goal
✨ a “dose”
✨ a rhythm that fits a real life
Sometimes the most powerful thing we can offer is support that helps someone reconnect - with themselves, with others, and with what matters. ❤️

Huge congratulations to Ella on the wonderful news this week that she has successfully passed the National Psychology Examination. This examination is one of the key regulatory measures used by the Psychology Board of Australia to ensure that applicants for psychologist registration meet the required standard of applied professional knowledge. It plays an important role in protecting the public by ensuring that only practitioners who are appropriately trained, qualified, and committed to ethical and competent practice are registered. We are so incredibly proud of Ella and deeply grateful to have her as part of our team ❤️

Happy International Women’s Day ❤️
Today at Mindful Pathways, we are taking a moment to celebrate the incredible women who make up our team.
The women of Mindful Pathways show up every day with empathy, professionalism, and deep care for the people they support. They live our core values of curiosity, compassion, and courage - in the way they sit alongside clients through hard moments, notice and celebrate progress, and support one another as colleagues.
This is work that requires skill, emotional presence, and quiet strength. Through listening deeply, holding space, and collaborating thoughtfully, our team helps create an environment where people feel heard, understood, and supported - often at times when it matters most.
International Women’s Day is an opportunity to recognise the many ways women contribute to our workplaces, professions, and communities. Today, we are especially grateful for the warmth, dedication, and expertise the women in our team bring to Mindful Pathways and to everyone who walks through our doors ❤️

Tonight I had the privilege of speaking with a fabulous group of middle leaders from schools across South Australia, gathered on the beautiful grounds of Scotch College.
As the sun set and the campus settled into that quiet, reflective stillness that only old school grounds seem to hold, I felt a deep sense of gratitude - not just for the invitation, but for the people in the room.
Wise, thoughtful, deeply caring educators.
Leaders who hold so much - for their teams, their students, and their communities - often without much space to reflect on what they themselves need.
We spoke about care, clarity, communication, boundaries, and sustainability.
But what stayed with me most was the generosity in the room - the way people listened to one another, laughed together, and spoke honestly about the realities of leading from the middle.
Middle leadership is not small leadership.
It is leadership at the centre of influence - and tonight was a powerful reminder of just how much quiet, steady impact sits in that space.
Thank you to the Middle Leaders Network, Sarah Shoobridge and to Scotch College Adelaide for hosting such a thoughtful evening, and thank you to every leader who showed up with openness, kindness, and courage. ~ Amber ❤️
