Everyone Meet Rinali! 👋
Rinali is one of the Swim Instructors at Salisbury Aquatic Centre! To help introduce her, we thought we'd ask Rinali a few questions:
Q: Do you have a favourite stroke to teach? If so, what one?
A: I love teaching freestyle because it is often the first stroke where swimmers really start to feel confident and strong in the water.
Q: Why do you think swimming lessons are an important life skill?
A: Swimming is not just a sport, it is a safety skill. It builds confidence, awareness, and independence around water, which is so important in Australia.
Q: Do you have any interests or hobbies outside of teaching?
A: Outside of teaching, I love spending time with my family and enjoy discovering new places and cultures whenever I get the chance to travel.
Q: If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?
A: The ability to pause time so I could help more kids when they need that extra bit of encouragement.
She's told us that her favourite part of teaching is helping students overcome their fears, realise they are capable of more than they thought, and grow in confidence.

A big congratulations to Leo! Leo has been working extra hard to overcome his fears and be more independent. He is submerging now loves getting sinky toys from the bottom of the pool 🐳

✨ Welcome to Week 3 of Mindful May!
Last week, we practiced finding stillness in the chaos. This week, we’re focusing on how we close our day with Evening Self Care. 🌙
As part of Mindful May we’re exploring how evening self care is the intentional bridge between the active, demanding hours of your day and the deep restoration of the night. Instead of just crashing into bed with a racing mind, a structured p.m. routine gently signals to your brain and body that it is safe to finally power down and relax! 🧘♀️
However, switching off effectively to position yourself for an evening of rest is quite difficult especially with the stressors of everyday life. There is no one size fits all formula, routine will look different for everyone.

Welcome to Week 2 of Mindful May! ✨
This week, we’re focusing The Art of Stillness. In our fast paced lives, it's crucial to intentionally activate our parasympathetic nervous system (our rest and digest mode) rather than keeping our bodies in a constant, heightened state of stress.
Think about the feeling of wrapping up a draining day at the office. You've made the effort to get to the gym to shake off the stress and the stiffness. Yet, rather than jumping right onto the treadmill or scrolling through notifications to distract yourself, what if you sought out a peaceful spot?
Take just five minutes to hit the pause button, tuning into the present moment. 🧘♀️
