Not the start to the final round of the Australian Formula Open Championship we wanted.
GCU (Gear Control Unit) failed before morning warm-up leaving the car in the garage for the day.
A replacement is en route from Adelaide and should arrive late tonight. Fingers crossed we can make it out for qualifying tomorrow morning.

Super excited to be heading back to the Island for the final round of the Australian Formula Open Championship combined with the final round of the NSW Formula Race Car Championship.
We have a 24 point lead in the NSW Championship and are currently 8th in Australian Formula Open.

2022 has become the end of an era with the conclusion of Formula 3 in Australia.
The category has had some amazing success being the category for the Australian Drivers Championship for the Goldstar from 2005 to 2014.

From 2023 onwards Formula 3 cars in Australia will be integrated into the Australian Formula Open Championship which had a fantastic debut round at Phillip Island. The category will still have classes for other non-Formula 3 cars with Sporting and Technical Regulations to be released soon.

The inaugural calendar is below:
Round 1: Winton Raceway - Mar 4-5
Round 2: Sydney Motorsport Park - Apr 15-16
Round 3: The Bend Motorsport Park - Jun 9-11
Round 4: Queensland Raceway - Aug 4-6
Round 5: Sandown Raceway - Sep 8-10
Round 6: Phillip Island - Nov 25-26
