South Gawler Tennis Club

South Gawler Tennis Club travelled to Kapunda for Round 15 where we faced a strong Kapunda side.

With great talent from both sides and played with great sportsmanship, we went down 8 sets to 4.

Despite the loss, it marked a significant achievement for South Gawler in our inaugural season, finishing 3rd and securing a place in the finals.

Meeting Kapunda again in the finals, South Gawler put in another determined performance but ultimately fell by the same margin, 8 sets to 4.

While the results didn’t go our way, the matches were played in great spirit, with Kapunda providing not only tough on-court competition but also a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere off the court.

Well done our South Gawler team and best of luck to Kapunda for the Grand final.

Friday 6th February - South Gawler v Tod Street Blue

After a week off due to extreme heat 🥵🔥,
we hit at our home courts again Friday night.

South Gawler took on Tod Street Blue in a fiercely contested clash. 🎾

Coming away with a 10–2 victory in a
scoreline that didn’t reflect the many tight sets against a strong and always enjoyable Tod Street side.

Our Isaac & James unstoppable, Shane & Joel edging out some nail-biters, and Besh, Gemma, Leeanne and Chantelle cruising..
Well done team and thanks to Tod Street for a memorable night.

Friday 16th January - South Gawler v Kapunda - Round 10

Tennis was back in action after the holiday break...finally...🎾
South Gawler hosting Kapunda under lights at our home courts.

It was great to see 👀 Shane, Joel, Scott and Isaac find their
way back into the team after some time away.

They were joined by the ever-reliable James, Leeanne, Gemma, Chantelle, Justin and Beshan, who took to the courts in style.

Kapunda proved to be a dangerous opponent, but South Gawler delivered a strong team performance to secure a convincing 8 sets to 4 victory.

We were thrilled to come away with a solid win to kick off the return to competition.

Friday night we were looking forward to taking on Tod Street under lights at our home courts.
However the weather had some other ideas and caused the whole Friday night competition to be cancelled.

Friday night, South Gawler Tennis Club enjoyed a great night of tennis at our home courts against Xavier White.
There with plenty of competitive rallies and a positive atmosphere throughout the evening.
Although the result didn’t go our way, the players appreciated the challenge, supported one another, and displayed excellent sportsmanship from start to finish.
Unfortunately Xavier White went home with the chocolates this week making it 1 all.

Thanks for making it a memorable experience for everyone involved.

Friday night, South Gawler Tennis Club made our debut away game, taking on Kapunda in the Barossa under a picturesque sky.
With the highly-ranked Harry back on board, SGTC embraced the challenge but ultimately went down 3 sets to 9.
Isaac and Gemma were the standouts in singles, securing well-deserved victories, while the pairing of Beshan and James battled hard for a thrilling 7-6 win. Despite the loss, SGTC showed great resilience, and a big congratulations goes to Kapunda for their strong performance.

In our inaugural year, South Gawler Tennis Club secured our third victory under lights. Edging out Trinity Old Scholars Tennis Club in a tight contest, 7 sets to 5.
Despite the threat of rain, the team showed great spirit and determination to get the job done. A fantastic effort from everyone, well done Lions, 3rd win of the season.

Friday night saw us play at home for the 3rd consecutive week. We took on Tod St. Blue and came away with a win, 8 sets to 4.
We are certainly getting some home ground advantage and enjoying the growth of our newly formed South Gawler Tennis Club.
