to one of our recent community activations with the City of Salisbury! π«π
Community events donβt just βhappenβ β they take planning, collaboration, problem solving, and a whole lot of behind-the-scenes work from passionate volunteers.
Recently, our club had the pleasure of working closely with the City of Salisbury to help deliver a community fun day with a sports theme, introducing even more local families to the sport of pickleball.
What many people donβt see is everything that happens before the first ball is hit.
To make this activation possible, our club worked directly with council staff to:
β
Conduct an on-site feasibility assessment of the venue
β
Ensure safe spacing and court layout for players and spectators
β
Test the surface suitability to achieve a near-true pickleball bounce
β
Contribute to event safety and risk mitigation planning
β
Coordinate scheduling and activation logistics
β
Work with the venue on appropriate court lining materials that wouldnβt damage the surface
β
Liaise with committee members and external representatives to coordinate the day successfully
Weβre incredibly proud of the work our volunteers continue to put into creating positive community experiences through sport. Pickleball is more than just a game to us β itβs about connection, inclusion, families, laughter, and building healthier communities.
A special thank you as well to the Northeastern Hurricanes representatives who attended on the day to help engage with participants during the activation. π
Sometimes the biggest part of community sport happens long before the event begins β and weβre proud to keep showing up for our community both on and off the court. β₯οΈ

πβ¨ What a week at the 2026 SA Pickleball Championships! β¨π
A huge congratulations to every player who stepped on court and every volunteer who helped bring this incredible event together. Tournaments like this simply donβt happen without the countless hours behind the scenes, and weβre incredibly grateful for everyone who gave their time and energy to make the championships such a success. β€οΈ
Weβve heard so much glowing feedback about the improved SMS notifications and score recording system too β helping keep the tournament running smoothly, reducing pressure on volunteers, and making the experience easier for players navigating the event. A fantastic step forward and a great example of innovation supporting our pickleball community. π
And as for Northern Starsβ¦ wellβ¦ our club absolutely dominated the podium this week ππ₯πͺπ» Weβre so proud of every one of our players β not just for the results, but for the sportsmanship, support, and community spirit you showed all tournament long.
Some of you were stepping into championship competition for the very first time. Some came back chasing redemption. And others apparently decided one gold medal simply wasnβt enoughβ¦ π
π Massive congratulations to Huy on achieving the Triple Crown with THREE gold medals!!! An incredible achievement and one to remember. π₯π₯π₯
And of course, special recognition goes to Christopher for securing the much talked about "Triple Brown" ππ€ π₯π₯π₯
We loved seeing the smiles, celebrations, sideline support and all those candid moments throughout the week.
If you snapped photos and have a public profile, please tag Northern Stars Pickleball Club, email us, or share using so we can continue celebrating our amazing community πΈβ
Congratulations everyone β weβre proud of you all. Bring on the next one! π«

β₯οΈ National Volunteer Week β₯οΈ
This week, we want to give a massive shout out to the incredible volunteers who help make Northern Stars Pickleball Club what it is. π
Over the last year, so many people have generously given their time to help our club grow and thrive. From setting up courts and organising sessions, to welcoming new players, running events behind the scenes, managing leagues, answering messages, taking photos, helping at community activations, serving on committees, and everything in between β our club simply wouldnβt exist without you.
And as we head into the 2026 SA Championships this weekend, we also want to recognise everyone stepping up to volunteer and help deliver what promises to be a fantastic event. Large tournaments donβt happen by chance, and every person giving up their time to support players and keep things running smoothly deserves recognition. πβ¨
Your time, energy, and passion help create the friendly and inclusive community weβre so proud to be part of.
To every volunteer, committee member, helper, and supporter: thank you for everything you do. We appreciate you more than words can say.
You are the heart of our club (and we hope we haven't missed any names!). β₯οΈπ
