🏓 BLAIR ATHOL COURTS UPDATE - Resurfacing works are coming! 🔧

From 17th September to 31st October, our usual 8 courts at Blair Athol will be unavailable while resurfacing works take place. Please note that these dates are weather-dependent and works may be delayed.

But don't worry — pickleball will go on! 🙌

Thanks to some great community teamwork, we've arranged for temporary lines to be painted on the adjacent public courts so we can keep playing during the works.

⚠️ The trade-off? We'll be reducing from 8 courts to 4, so please be patient and plan ahead during this period.

A BIG THANK YOU to:
🏓 Soft Serve Pickleball Club for giving up part of their weekend to help line the courts with us.
🤝 PAE Council and One Culture for working with us to find a local solution and minimise disruption.

The Pickleball SA Doubles Challenge 2026 delivered fantastic competition, great sportsmanship and plenty of reasons to celebrate!

A HUGE thank you to all the volunteers, organisers and hardworking people behind the scenes who made this event possible. Friday and Sunday's rain and storms presented some challenges, but the team's ability to adapt and pivot indoors was fantastic. 🌧️⛈️ Thank you for keeping the competition moving! 👏

Congratulations to all our members who competed, brought home medals and represented our club with pride! 🥇🥈🥉 And a warm thank you to our interstate competitors who travelled to join us - it's wonderful to see our pickleball community come together!

🏓⭐ JUNIOR PICKLEBALL IS BACK FOR TERM 4! ⭐🏓

Calling all young pickleballers! 🎾

Northern Stars Pickleball Club is excited to continue growing junior pickleball opportunities in our community, and we're delighted to welcome Coach Paul back to deliver a six-week junior coaching programme at Walkerville Recreation Centre!

Whether your child is new to the sport or already loves getting out on court, this programme offers a fun, supportive environment to learn new skills, build confidence and enjoy being active.

A huge CONGRATULATIONS to Yvonne, Julie and Andy on bringing home medals from the 2026 Stockland Halcyon Australian Pickleball Championships this week! 🥇🥈🥉

We couldn't be prouder to see our Northern Stars members representing South Australia on the national stage at one of the biggest events on the Australian pickleball calendar.

This year's APC brought together more than 1,300 players at Pimpama Sports Hub on the Gold Coast, with competitors travelling from across Australia and international players joining the competition from countries including New Zealand, the USA, UK, Canada and Japan. With hundreds of events and some seriously strong competition, earning a place on that podium is no small achievement! 👏

So, Yvonne, Julie and Andy — well done! Your hard work, dedication and love of the game have made your club and your state very proud. ⭐

And while we're celebrating South Australian pickleball, we also want to give a very special shout-out to Talia Saunders — our local SA pickleballer who has taken her game to the professional level. 💚💛

Back-to-back APC Pro Women's Doubles Champion! 🏆🏆

Talia has now claimed the Pro Women's Doubles title for the second year running, following her 2025 championship win. What an incredible achievement — and what a fantastic ambassador for South Australian pickleball.

From our local courts to the national podium, South Australian pickleball is making its mark. 💪

Congratulations to everyone who travelled, competed, supported, cheered from the sidelines and represented our sport with pride.

❄️ GOODBYE, WINTER EVENING WEDNESDAYS! 🏓

As the weather warms up, our 2026 winter programming at Lightsview is coming to an end.

For our regular players, this may bring a familiar feeling… 😭 We know how popular our Wednesday evening indoor sessions at Lightsview are, and we know many of you will be disappointed to see them go.

For our newer members and social players, you might be wondering *why* Wednesday nights are finishing.

The reality is that Wednesday evening indoor access at Lightsview is only available to us as part of their winter programming schedule. Unfortunately, this isn't something Northern Stars Pickleball Club can change on our own.

But the good news is… summer is coming! ☀️

Many of us will head back outdoors, so we’d love to see you at the Blair Athol Racquet Sports Hub, where we’ll continue our regular Tuesday and Thursday evening sessions.

We’re excited to launch a brand‑new Sunday morning pickleball session at the Blair Athol Racquet Sports Hub — perfect for players who want a mix of fun social play and purposeful tournament practice.

🎾 4 Courts Social Play
Relaxed, inclusive games for all levels. Mix, rotate, meet new players and enjoy a friendly Sunday hit.

🏆 4 Courts Tournament Practice
Outdoor match‑style practice for players preparing for the Pickleball SA Doubles Challenge or anyone wanting to sharpen their game in real outdoor conditions.

✨ Beginners Welcome
A beginners coach and free‑loan paddles are available for anyone wanting to learn on the day.
