So good to be back in the studio, with the beautiful ocean as our backdrop.

Today we explored Parvatasana in Swastikasana, learning to lift the sides of the body, broaden the collarbones, and create space across the chest. As we lengthen upwards, the breath becomes freer and the posture steadier, reminding us that true extension begins from within.

It was wonderful to reconnect with everyone and share the practice together again.

My final days in India were spent at the institute, soaking up every last moment of learning, reflection, and practice. One last coffee at Godaam coffee place. Before beginning the long journey home, I rolled out my mat one last time, and then again in the transit hotel after many hours of travel.

Those simple practices made such a difference, helping both body and mind recover from the long journey. Yoga supports us in countless ways—not just on the mat, but through every stage of life.

Roll out your mat, begin where you are, and see what unfolds.

I’m looking forward to being back home and seeing you all in class very soon.

A beautiful Sunday spent with a couple of fellow yogis exploring some of Pune’s hidden treasures. We visited the Pataleshwar caves and a quaint little temple, visited the old Palace and wandered through a park dedicated to Guruji, stopped to admire the oldest tree in Pune, and finished the day with dinner in vibrant Koregaon Park.

A lovely way to spend our day off, taking in the sights, sharing good company, and reflecting on this incredible month of learning and practice. With just one week left before I head home, I’m feeling grateful for every experience, every lesson, and every connection made along the way.

Looking forward to being back on the mat with you all very soon.

Fresh coconut water with Tiina from Finland after class and self-practice — the perfect way to rehydrate in the Pune heat. 🥥☀️

Today I visited Vithaldas Narayandas & Sons to collect some natural incense along with Hamir and Khus oils, then wandered down the colourful streets to Ishwar Moorti & Gift Centre where I found a beautiful stone statue of Patanjali. 🙏🏻

The afternoon was rounded out with a lovely latte and banana tea cake before heading home to rest and reflect.

Tomorrow brings an extra class, so it will be another full day of learning, observing, studying, and self-practice. The Shakti energy in the practice room is phenomenal. Every day here offers another opportunity to deepen my understanding, not only of yoga, but of myself.

Week three is underway and I am filled with gratitude for this incredible experience and the opportunity to learn at Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute.

A few snapshots from my first week in Pune. 🇮🇳

My little neighbourhood near the Hari Krishna Mandir, the local park where I walk each day, and the yoga space that I treasure visiting and practising in every morning. A vibrant day exploring the bustling markets of Laxmi Road, full of colour, energy and people, followed by a visit to Lal Mahal (Red Palace)one of Pune’s most famous landmarks. The local families were wonderfully curious and keen to have their photos taken with us.

The week finished with a beautiful lunch at Tsuki and some time to slow down and absorb all that this experience is offering.

Today was a holiday here — a welcome day of rest before another week of intensive practice, reflection, reading and study. There is something deeply humbling about returning to the role of student; to listen, observe, learn and simply be present with the process.

Grateful for every moment of this journey.

Home away from home 🇮🇳❤️

For the next month, this little apartment will be my home while I study at Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute.

A simple one-bedroom apartment, perfect for one person, with everything I need for a month of practice, study, rest and reflection.

It’s tucked away far enough from the main road to be peaceful and quiet, yet only a 5-minute stroll to the Institute. There’s also a lovely garden park just up the road, making the walk each day even more enjoyable.

After a long journey from Australia, it’s wonderful to have found a space that already feels like home. A place to settle, practice, learn and immerse myself in this special experience.

Loving it already ❤️🙏

A practice in my new space.

After a long journey, I’ve finally arrived in Pune and settled into what will be my home for the next month. The first thing I wanted to do was roll out my mat and practice. There is something so grounding about returning to yoga after travel—stretching out the stiffness of the journey, reconnecting with the breath, and finding a sense of steadiness in a new place.

Tomorrow I’ll head out to explore. So much has changed since I was last here eight years ago. The bustling main road now has a metro running right through the middle of it, a remarkable transformation that reflects how quickly this city is growing. It’s fascinating to see the blend of old and new that makes Pune so unique.

I’m looking forward to discovering my new neighbourhood, finding some beautiful places to eat, and immersing myself in the rhythm of daily life here.

On Monday, my studies begin at Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute. I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to spend a month learning, practising, observing, and deepening my understanding of Iyengar Yoga at its source.

“Wherever you go, take your practice with you. It is the one place that always feels like home.”✨🙏🏻

Wall standing poses — using the full support of the wall to bring stability, grounding and deeper awareness to the actions of the body. The wall becomes a teacher in itself; showing us where to extend, where to lift, and where to steady the mind.

Tomorrow I fly to Pune for the month of June to study at Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute. Feeling incredibly grateful for the opportunity to deepen my practice and continue learning directly from the source of the Iyengar method.

Each time I return to study, I’m reminded that yoga is not something we ever finish learning. The practice continues to evolve, refine and reveal more of ourselves — physically, mentally and emotionally.

“The practice of asanas is not to master the posture. It’s to use the posture to understand and transform yourself.” — B. K. S. Iyengar.
