The Sydney Korfball Club was saddened to hear of the passing of Newcastle Royals Korfball Club stalwart Andrew Barrett.

A fierce opponent on the court (and sometimes for us as well), and the nicest person off the court as soon as the final ho**er went. Everyone from the Redbacks who met Andrew has fond memories of a chat afterwards at the pub or on the side of the court after the game. It's been such an honour playing for the cup named after Andrew and we hope that the tradition will continue on for generations of NSW Korfballers. His determination and drive during his battle with MND over the last few years was nothing short of amazing and it is a cause that will stay close to our hearts.

Our hearts and thoughts go out to Jennifer and the family, as well as the Newcastle Korfball community.
