Is it just me or does anybody else get emotionally attached to kayaks you’ve had extraordinarily profound experiences in?
I paddled Peaches yesterday, an Explorer HV, 3 piece, that has accompanied me on expeditions in Vanuatu, NZ, Fiji, Corsica, Sardinia, Italy and Australia.
Still a great kayak and carries a load so beautifully.

A three day expedition…
Day one, 27 kilometres from Woorim, Bribie island to North Point, Moreton Island, play in waves on the way, set up camp on the lawn and eat amazing food including steak, cheese wine and beer.
Day two, Surf the North Point, point break all day, walk, eat amazing food, cheese wine and beer.
Day three, paddle back to Woorim, surf as you go, hang with whales and dolphins.
Jaffa and I were reminded of just how superbly designed and joyful our Romany Classic kayaks are loaded and unloaded.
I will set my glass Romany Classic up for longer expeditions, including a sail. I can’t think of a more joyful and confidence inspiring kayak to paddle in all conditions.
