At our Middleton Beach event last weekend we had great conditions and while most opted for a 4-500m swim and either 2 or 4km run along the coastal path, we had a couple who opted for a beach run and repeat (swim, run, swim, run).
We hope people can make it to our last event of the season at Whalers Cove on Sunday 9 March.

Our competitors on Sunday opted for a 500 swim, 20km bike and 2km run. The water was fairly flat and it was a little overcast so wasn’t too hot, but the hills were a challenge!!
Hope everyone can join us for the next event - an aquathlon at Midds on 16th Feb at 7am.
For those that missed our last event we had fantastic conditions.
Hoping for comfortable conditions for our next Tri this coming Sunday (2 Feb). We have a range of distances on offer up to 1250m swim, 30km bike and 6km run.
The event will be at Whalers Cove with transition in the car park at the Point Possession Heritage Trail off Quaranup Road on the Vancouver Peninsula.
Registration from 6:30 with a 7am start for the long course competitors.
This coming Sunday (12 January) we have an Aquathlon event at Emu Point. Either a 300m swim and 2.5km run or 600m swim and 5km run. Or you can make your own blend of these distances if you prefer.
This will be on the ocean side at Emu Beach off Cunningham Street. Be there by 6:45am for a 7am start.
We look forward to seeing you there.
This coming Sunday 15 December we have another Aquathlon at Middleton Beach starting at 7am.
Distance options to suit all, so come and give it a go.
See you at 6:45 on the grass by the Surf Club for briefing.
Good luck to everyone heading to Busselton this weekend. For those still in Albany we have a Duathlon event for you with the cycle leg around the Retravision Stadium path.
This is open to anyone 10 and above.
Meet at the Eastern Precinct car park (near Albany Plasterboard) for registration at 7am. Hoping to start at 7:15.
Just a reminder that tomorrow morning 7am at Middleton Beach we kick-start our 2024-25 season with an Aquathlon training session.
Distance options to suit all, so come and give it a go.
See you at 6:45 on the grass by the Surf Club for briefing.
On behalf of the Albany Tri Club Committee, we apologise for the delay in getting information out to you regarding our season of events for 2024-25.
However, as a start to the season we are holding a training Aquathlon (swim/run) at Middleton Beach on Sunday 17 November - yes next weekend.
We are looking at a 200m swim and a 2km run or thereabouts and for those who want to do a longer event this can be repeated, so it would be swim/run/swim/run.
Also, we have some members doing an unofficial Olympic distance triathlon (1500m swim, 40km bike, 10km run) as part of their training for the Busselton Ironman 70.3 on 1 December. If anyone is keen they can tag along for all or part of this.
We aim to start at 7am on the beach by the Surf Club, so please come along for 6:45am and look for the Club flag on the grass between the Surf Club and 3 Anchors.
We are still fine tuning what we are able to offer this season, so a full calendar of proposed events is not quite ready yet.
We hope to see you there to kick off the season.
