This week is National Volunteer Week, and we want to take a moment to acknowledge the absolute legends who champion and keep female cricket going in our region 🏏

As female cricket continues to grow, we have relied on volunteers more than ever. There is only so much two people can do, and this space simply would not thrive without the people who give up their time for the love of the game and, just as importantly, for the love of female cricket.

While we are highlighting a few specific people, every single person who lends a hand matters. Whether you are helping our young players get ready, scoring games, setting up grounds, umpiring, running warm ups, or staying behind to help pack up - you are the reason this community continues to grow. We see you, we value you, and we appreciate you.

🌟 Holly & Tess
Coaching the Girls Blasters and Albany U13 Girls while also playing their own cricket. Holly has been a massive part of why female cricket is where it is today, and Tess, despite still being young herself, she is always eager to lend a hand.

🌟 Phil, Walter & Josh
Coaching the Mt Barker U13 Girls they are the reason why Barker has girls cricket and they are always willing to lend a hand wherever needed on game days.

🌟 Albany Sharks Cricket Club
Giving up their Friday afternoons to help set up grounds for Sunset Scorchers and continually being standout champions for female cricket.

🌟 Jess Cramer
Championing female cricket for her daughter Tayte by team managing and always offering a hand wherever needed.

🌟 Jules Langley
A true cricketing legend in our region - playing, coaching, and now coordinating a huge girls program in Denmark.

🌟 Dads like Adam, Dean, Ben & Shane
The dads who are always there for our U13 girls. Whether it’s umpiring, helping the girls get ready, running warm ups, or stepping in wherever needed, they constantly take pressure off others and help keep game days running smoothly.

🌟 Cindy Clements
A long time volunteer of the game, she is continually volunteering her time to cricket.

🌟 Ryan Kinnear & Ryan Tindale
Two absolute legends we would genuinely be lost without. While you may not always see them around our games, they are a massive reason why female cricket is where it is today. From being sounding boards to helping ensure opportunities are there for our girls, they are huge champions of female cricket.

🌟 Jess Cramer
One of our newest players who has hit the ground running. Jess has now taken over Country Week coordination, but even before that was always offering to help wherever needed.

🌟 Kerry Pearce
Our team mum ❤️ The photographer, organiser, chief listener, supporter and all-round glue that keeps everyone going. Every team needs a Kerry.

To every volunteer in our female cricket community - thank you. Our cricket is growing because of people like you 🏏

💐 This one’s for the Cricket Mums 💐

The early mornings. The late nights.
The sideline runs.
The endless snack packing.
The Mum Taxi shifts.

We see you ❤️

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mums, step mums, grandmothers, mother figures, and the incredible women supporting others both at home and throughout our cricket community. And for those who may find today difficult, we’re thinking of you too.

Because it starts with just one season…
And somehow, it becomes your whole life.

Your schedule.
Your people.
Your weekends.

The stands start to feel like home, and the mums beside you? They start to feel like family too.

You never really plan for it…
But you wouldn’t change it for the world 🏏

🌟 Here’s to the run praising, throwdown giving, wicket wishing, boundary clapping, scorebook running Cricket Mums.

The mums showing our girls how it’s done - juggling Mum life while still getting out there and playing themselves 💪

And just like a never ending innings…
Our love for you will never run out 💛
