Unfortunately we have to cancel the upcoming card and put future plans on the shelf for the moment. 🤬😭
There are a lot of moving parts to this endeavour, a lot of costs and a lot of risk involved. Things just aren't lining up ATM as much as we want them too.
Sincerest apologies to everyone who was looking forward to competing on the card and all the people who pledged their support.

Just a quick confirmation that May 13th is our new date for kicking things off. Book it in your calendar!
Will be sending out emails and messages to everyone involved over the coming days too.
We are going to try and push for a Country vs City card with an end of the night trophy for the winning team. All match results will go towards the team tally so it should be an entertaining evening.
Will be in touch a bit closer to the event to try and find some good match ups.
In the meantime make sure you have got your information pack with all the rulesets and nomination requirements. There are some overtime rules for grappling that you will need to be up to speed on.

Due to circumstances beyond our control we have to reschedule our inaugural IGNITE FC competition next year.☹️
The current date of Feb 18th is no longer available.
We are now looking at May and will inform everyone of the exact date once some of our key logistical items are rebooked and locked in.

We will be having an info session and discussion with anyone who is interested in competing or being a part of the event team this Saturday arvo 26th November at 2pm at Inswing. We'll be putting a plan together and starting to match up athletes as soon as possible.
If you would like to have your say or find out more then come along and be a part of something new to the Albany sports scene.
It's going to be epic.

Nominations for our first event on the18th February 2023 are now open!
This will be held in Albany and a perfect opportunity for local athletes to test and develop their skills in front of friends and family and showcase what benefits can be gained by participating in a combat sport.
For our first card we are hoping to have a city vs country challenge where the results of all contests go towards the final tally to see whether it's city street smarts or country toughness that comes out on top.
We are looking for athletes to compete in one of three categories.
Striking.
Submission Grappling.
MMA.
The main focus points we are looking at for this event-
1. Creating opportunities for less experienced athletes to compete against each other and develop skills and experience before jumping into the Perth scene.
2. No weight cutting .

In short there will be some policies and incentives in place to ensure athletes are competing at their natural walking around weight and don't have to have the added burden of trying to cut weight and compete in a depleted state. This is an amateur event where most athletes have to hold down jobs and support families. Cutting weight is an unnecessary risk and strain on those individuals.
3. Promote and develop the combat sports industry in our region. There is a distinct lack of knowledge overall about what training and competing in a combat sport looks like. By putting on these shows we can start to build more interest and grow our sport in the Great Southern. People who are interested in learning a functional martial art will be able to see which clubs and styles hold up in a competitive environment.
