This NAIDOC Week, we are incredibly proud to reveal our special edition GSAS training shirt, designed by our very own Courtney White.
Courtney is a WA First Nations State Netball representative, proud Menang woman and talented artist. Inspired by her own experiences through sport and the Academy, we are honoured that Courtney has shared her story, culture and creativity with us in such a meaningful way.
Through this project, we hope to celebrate the rich cultures, histories and continuing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in our region. We also hope this design helps foster a sense of belonging, respect and pride for First Nations people and all young people across the Great Southern.
A sincere thank you to Kadadjiny Aboriginal Corporation for generously supporting this project and helping bring Courtney's vision to life. It could not have happened without you!
To learn more about Courtney, the inspiration behind the artwork and the meaning woven throughout the design, read the full story on our website via the link below.

Fliss Appreciation Post ๐
A huge shout out to our Sports Dietician, Felicity Willis.
Fliss brings so much warmth, positivity and energy to the GSAS team. Through her fortnightly fuel up visits, one-on-one nutrition support, and genuine care for every athlete, she helps fuel both performance and well being.
Fun Fact ๐คก Fliss was a WAIS rowing scholarship holder and previously worked with the British Paralympic swimming team!
Thanks for all that you do, Fliss! ๐๐ช๐ฅ๐

Scholarships don't pause when athletes get injured.
Whether an athlete is in full training, returning from injury or completing a modified program, our goal is the same: keep them engaged, moving and connected to the team.
Recovery can be a frustrating, challenging and isolating time. And we think no one should go it alone ๐ช
