Fliss Appreciation Post πŸ™Œ

A huge shout out to our Sports Dietician, Felicity Willis.

Fliss brings so much warmth, positivity and energy to the GSAS team. Through her fortnightly fuel up visits, one-on-one nutrition support, and genuine care for every athlete, she helps fuel both performance and well being.

Fun Fact 🀑 Fliss was a WAIS rowing scholarship holder and previously worked with the British Paralympic swimming team!

Thanks for all that you do, Fliss! πŸ’™πŸ’ͺπŸ₯—πŸ™Œ

Scholarships don't pause when athletes get injured.

Whether an athlete is in full training, returning from injury or completing a modified program, our goal is the same: keep them engaged, moving and connected to the team.

Recovery can be a frustrating, challenging and isolating time. And we think no one should go it alone πŸ’ͺ

From the Great Southern to the Green & GoldπŸ’šπŸ’›

What a week it has been for Mason and Ginger who have proudly represented their country for the first time at the Oceania Athletics Championships in Darwin. πŸ₯‡πŸ₯ˆ

Mason will take away a Gold medal in the U18 Triple jump after an explosve 14.55m first jump and Ginger brings home a Silver in the U18 400m Hurdles with a great time of 1:01.92.

This is truly why we exist πŸ™Œ To watch, support and develop athletes like Mason and Ginger in their home environments, so they can stay in our communities while still reaching their full potential.

Thank you to CITS Great Southern for their ongoing support that makes our program possible.

Albany Sportsperson of the Year Awards πŸ‘

We had such a great night at the City of Albany SPOTY last week. So proud of all our nominated GSAS crew with 13 of the 18 junior nominations coming from our athletes, and four finalists overall. A true reflection of the hard work being put in across the board.

Special congratulations to Keely Berry who, off the back of her 2025 National Squad selection, was named Albany Retravision Junior Sportsperson of the Year. Huge achievement and very well deserved.

Big thanks to the The City of Albany and all the sponsors for putting on a great event, and congrats to all nominees and winners.

Not too mention, great to hear from key note speaker Peter Bol πŸ‘
