Today, I had the privilege of listening to Dr Paul Wood speak on resilience and the power of the human spirit. His presentation was truly inspiring — touching deeply on the importance of community, connection, vulnerability, and self-discovery. It hit right to the core. It was amazing!!!!

If you haven’t read his books, I highly recommend them — "Mental Fitness" and "How to Escape From Prison" (pictured in this post).

A heartfelt thank you to for your genuine, humble, and personable nature — it was such a pleasure to meet you.

Thank you to for continuing to be my guardian angel in life and for giving me the opportunity to meet and hear Paul speak. Congratulations on pulling together such an incredible conference.

My cup is truly full today. Thank you ❤️

Before Boxing, I did Muay Thai for over 10 years. Such a demanding sport and my fitness was next level. A life time ago, but this memory pop-up was a nice one. This is me in Koh Samui. Even on holidays I wanted to train.🤣 .

My big sister and I. We haven't lived in the same country for a very long time. I find it hard to say goodbye. Treasured moments. .🥰

Beaches on Waiheki are superb, but the water is like having an ice bath. It's a quick dip in and out.

I can speak from personal experience, pain can lead to a great deal of self education.

I have been fortunate to find just a few allied health professionals that have truly helped me over the years. I think I could have bought a few houses with the amount of money I have spent trying to get assistance that is actually worthwhile.

I can tell you that if you are not looking at the body as a whole and continuing to look at things in isolation, it will stop you from actually moving forward.

Having to retrain poor movement patterns is hard. It takes patience, persistence, dedication, and resilience. It's having to let go of the ego to stop doing the same things that never get to the root cause.

We also have to very much consider how much our physical body responds to emotional and mental well-being. Something that is very much underestimated in the allied health sector.

I am eternally grateful to those few (and I mean just two professionals who think outside the square and look beyond "do a 1000 glute bridges and core exercises for your back."

Stretching improves muscle flexibility and range of motion, which is important for overall mobility. However, building stability, strength, and healthy joints requires active engagement through strength training, functional movement, and neuromuscular control. This balanced approach is necessary for enhancing joint health and protecting against injuries

From my own personal experience and chronic years of pain, I can 100% tell you that stretching does not fix issues of misalignment and poor movement patterns. Whilst stretching may feel good at the time, it's only momentary and will not fix injuries. You have to get to the root cause!

The industry go to has always been to stretch, but frankly, I think this doesn't work, and in fact, I know it doesn't due to my own personal experiences.
