In 2025, Mez had the privilege of co-commentating alongside Matt Payne at the Joseph Bianchini Memorial Cup.

It was an experience he was incredibly proud of, not just because of the event itself, but because he got to share the commentary box with someone he genuinely looked up to. Matt was a huge inspiration to Mez, and he was looking forward to learning from him and benefiting from his mentorship in the years ahead.

Matt’s passion, professionalism, and support of young people in our sport left a lasting impression on so many, including Mez.

🏁 Brad Jones Challenge – Rounds 1 & 2 Recap

Last weekend Dad and I headed to Rochester and Numurkah for the opening rounds of the Brad Jones Challenge. Mixed results across the weekend, but overall we were really happy with the speed and progress we showed 💪

📍 Round 1 – Rochester Kart Club
First time racing Rochester in Juniors after last competing there in Cadets back in 2024.

Heat 1 – P4
Heat 2 – P2
Heat 3 – P2
Final – P2 + Fastest Lap 🔥

🏆 Round Result – 3rd Overall

After presentations we packed up and drove straight to Numurkah ready for Round 2 the next morning.

📍 Round 2 – Goulburn Valley Kart Club

Heat 1 – P2
Heat 2 – P3
Heat 3 – P3 🌧️
Final – P3

The rain made the final super tough. Got pushed wide at Turn 1 and dropped back to P6, but fought back through the field and closed back in on the leaders.

🏆 Round Result – 2nd Overall

📊 Championship Standings
After two rounds we now sit 3rd in the Championship 👊

Really happy with the weekend overall. Rochester was super strong, while Numurkah was definitely challenging — especially with our wet tyres well past their best while most of the front runners bolted on brand new sets. To still come away with P2 overall was something we were proud of.
