Frontline treatment for depression!
A meta-analysis of 218 trials found it provides larger reductions in symptoms than walking, strength training, or antidepressants alone.
Dance simultaneously releases serotonin, dopamine, and oxytocin while lowering cortisol. When performed in groups, it creates interbrain synchrony that strengthens social bonds. Researchers are now advocating for dance to be considered a front-line treatment for depression.
Whether in a living room or a ballroom, moving to the beat is proving transformative.

Building better brains and bodies with highland!!
Did you know? ππ
Highland Dancing is fantastic for building coordination! With precise footwork, strong arm positions and quick changes in direction, dancers learn how to move different parts of their body together with control and confidence.
From mastering timing with the music to balancing on the balls of your feet, every step helps develop body awareness, focus and agility β skills that benefit dancers both on and off the dance floor.
Whether youβre just starting out or refining advanced technique, Highland Dancing is a fun and engaging way to strengthen coordination while enjoying movement and music. ππ

A blitzing hot finish to the year with these very tough dancers alternating between dancing in 40 degrees and chugging the water. What an amazing year - new faces, new dances, new friends, new challenges, new personal achievements - everything that dance should be!
Thank you for having us, , we love finishing the year this way (but maybe we can arrange for 5-10 degrees cooler for the whole market next year π).

A big thank you to the club of who had us out to the to perform last weekend. Rotary do such amazing things for young people all over the world, and it is wonderful that they give our dancers the opportunity to practice being up on stage and working hard for a performance goal. Good job, dancers! It was so wonderful to see you all up there trying new things, overcoming nerves and dancing with all your energy!
