🥋Why Wednesday-JMA Values: Focus🔥

At JMA, focus is a skill we train just like kicks, punches, and techniques.🥋

Focus means being present, listening carefully, following instructions, and giving your best effort even when something feels difficult. We teach our students to focus on the task in front of them, because when we learn to control our attention, we can learn and improve much faster.

With grading coming up, it’s a great time to put that focus into action. New levels mean new goals, new techniques, and new challenges.🔥

Stay focused, keep training, and let’s work hard to earn those new levels!💥

🥊 We stitched up the Kickboxing crew GOOD 😂

But in all seriousness at JMA, it’s not just about learning how to fight; it’s about having the confidence, awareness and character to help others when it matters.
🥊 Train hard.
❤️ Look after others.
😂 And never trust the coach with a camera!

💪Strong, Confident & Focused👊

Every class helps our students grow in skill, belief, and character, giving them the tools to succeed both on and off the mats.💪🥋

🥋Why Wednesday - JMA Values: Awareness🔥

Awareness is more than paying attention, it’s a skill that shapes how we train, how we grow, and how we interact with the world around us.🌏

At JMA, we teach awareness on multiple levels:

• Self-awareness - Understand your emotions,
reactions, strengths, and areas for improvement.
This is where real growth begins.🥋

• Awareness of others- Recognising how your words, actions, and attitude affect your training partners, teammates, family, and community. Respect starts with awareness.😊

• Environmental awareness - Being present and aware of your surroundings, staying safe, making good decisions, and responding with confidence rather than reacting without thought.💪

In martial arts, awareness helps you anticipate, adapt, and perform at your best. In everyday life, it helps you become a better friend, leader, student, parent, and teammate.💙🥋

🥋Technique Tuesday: Board Breaking🔥

With grading 3 weeks away! We are starting board breaking in class so let’s go over some of the key points of board breaking💥

🥋Line Up/Practice: make sure your line up your strike 2-3 times on the board so the coach can make sure you’re in the correct position and that they are ready.

🗣️Yell Loud: before breaking the board yell loud to let the coach know you’re about to break the board.

💪Don’t Stop! make sure you strike all the way through and past the board, if you stop it won’t break!

🔥Don’t Give Up! If it doesn’t break on the first try, that’s okay, take a breath, reset, and try again even stronger!

Get down in the mats these next 3weeks to practice your board break for the upcoming gradings!!

💪Strong stance, strong mindset!🥋

Our Intermediate students were putting their horse riding stances to the test-staying low, being loud, moving fast, and showing great strength and determination. The louder the kihap and the stronger the stance, the more confidence they build!🔥

Keep up the awesome work team!👏

💥Motivational Monday🥋

“Martial arts begins and ends with respect”

Respect is one of the most important lessons we teach in martial arts. While students learn kicks, punches, and self-defence skills, they also learn valuable life skills that will help them both on and off the mats.🥋💙

At JMA, respect is shown in everything we do - from bowing onto the mats and bowing to instructors, to standing tall, listening when others are speaking, communicating respectfully with coaches and teammates, and taking pride in wearing a clean and tidy uniform.

These small actions help create a positive training environment where everyone can learn, grow, and support each other.🙌

Respect isn’t just a martial arts skill, it’s a life skill.
The habits our students build in the dojo help shape them into confident, respectful, and responsible people outside of training too.👏

Train hard, be kind, and always show respect.💪🔥
