AWTC provides members of all ages and abilities the opportunity to compete in the growing sport of Triathlon.

The Albury Wodonga Triathlon Club was formed around 1992 by Robert Paterson who had been involved in triathlon racing in Melbourne and realised the potential of the sport. The club has since grown from a membership of about twelve to a number in excess of four hundred. We've moved!
To better serve our members and community, the Albury Wodonga Triathlon Club has launched a new official page!

Despite extensive efforts over many months — including conversations with past admins and Facebook support — we’ve been unable to regain administrative access to this page. To ensure our club has a fully functional space for updates, events, and interactions, we’ve decided to archive this old page and start fresh.

Initially we have called it the 'Albury Wodonga Triathlon Club Recovery Page'

We’ve kept the same profile picture and cover photo so you’ll recognize us easily. Please like and follow the new page to stay up to date with all things triathlon!

Just a quick reminder about the upcoming Victorian Regional Tri Series and 2XU Triathlon Series. The first event is on September 26th, 2025. Whether you're experienced or new to triathlons, these events are a great opportunity to come together and show team spirit.

Thanks for your support and see you at the next event 💪

AWTC Season 2025/26 - Planning Update

While it's chilly outside, our committee is warming up for an exciting upcoming season at Albury Wodonga Triathlon Club! We're excited to roll out a fresh program that brings AWTC members together regularly in a healthy, social environment, celebrating our shared love for triathlon.

Here's what we have planned:
• Weekly Group Sessions (x4 per week!)
🏊 Swim | 🚴 Cycle | 🏃 Run | 🔁 Multi-sport fun
Each week during the warmer months, we’ll run one focused session for each discipline, plus an exciting mixed session to bring it all together.

• Supportive & Social Training
River swims, rail trail runs, group rides where no one is left behind, and multisport sessions that simulate the real thing—minus the pressure.

• Club & Community Racing
Join us for AWTC events, training races, and support crews heading to regional and Melbourne races. You don’t have to race alone!

Since this is a new initiative, we will evolve and make adjustments as we go along.

Membership Renewal: The new triathlon membership year kicked off July 1, so hopefully you were set to auto-renew your membership. If not we suggest that you go to the Just Go link below and take out a membership. There are various options but by at least having Basic membership you are covered for insurance during our training sessions. Also AusTriathlon is adding more member perks and partner discounts to make membership more valuable than ever! Visit: https://austriathlon.justgo.com/

Looking forward to seeing everyone come together and make the most of the season ahead!

Hopefully people are aware that the AGM is upcoming. There are some points that you might not be aware of.

AWTC is financially viable. We have finished the season with a healthy bank balance .

AWTC has a significant number of assets, trailers, bike racking, a new timing system, marquees, traffic control signs etc etc

What we lack are sufficient numbers of people who are prepared to take on volunteer roles on the committee including positions of president, vice president, secretary and treasurer. We also lack sufficient numbers of people who are prepared to volunteer their time to set up events, run events and then pack up afterwards. If there are not sufficient numbers of volunteers then all the work falls on to the shoulders of a few individuals and this is not sustainable.

There is another club on the border - “Border triathlon squad “ being set up with a view to putting on events over the 2025/26 season.
There are avenues for AWTC to collaborate with BTS, these avenues are open for discussion at the AGM.

Anyone with an interest in the future of multi sports events on the border is strongly encouraged to attend the AGM
