Last night we ventured up to rushworth for the Patty Ahearn memorial and Northern series round

Heat 1 started 10th finished 7th on a greasy track just couldn’t find drive
Heat 2 started 1st and went backwards finished 7th
Heat 3 started 6th finished 5th

Qualified 12th for the feature race and started making moves and with a few cautions giving me time to open up the visor to get some fresh air which helped we go going again I was pretty buggered by the last 10 or so laps due to being a little unfit I got up to 4th and decided to stay there instead of getting a big head and spinning out or something

All in all it was a great night and a track we have never been to

Most kids collect cans to get some pocket money for lollies and toys but not young will every year he spends the year collecting bottles and cans along side his mum and dad to raise as much money as he can to donate every single cent to the royal children’s hospital good Friday appeal
For next year he has set the bar high after raising over $3000 dollars this year
If any speedway clubs or people would like to help Will with his cause it would be greatly appreciated

What a amazing 2026 campaign. Honestly blown away with what this young lad has achieved. But with the bar set high his aiming for the stars! His goal for the 2027 appeal is $4,100. We will need even more support to achieve this.

We also have an inside deal of if he raises $4,500 this year Laura & myself will take him to Melbourne and get him on the appeal coverage with a giant cheque!

So let’s get this years car up and running! We will be doing a can run in two weeks time!

Aussie title recap

Thursday Practice went out for 2 runs and new the car was quick there from get go and finished up being 43rd in lap times with the top 50 drivers all being less than a second difference.
Night 1 friday
Heat one I started in 4th and was making my way to 2nd on each restart even did a couple of sliders to get to 1st
But from the drop of the green flag I was a target and got hit quite a few times and spun and put into the wall knocking the wheel alignment out and after that I was in second and the car just kept wanting to spin by itself and ended up coming last. So fixed it up and give it a quick wheel alignment and fixed bar work up a bit.

2nd heat started out of 9th had a really good start and went straight to 6th on the first corner but a car spun and we went to a full restart and then had to work for it and got up to 4th but with another caution and a fair few rolling laps we got going again and ran out of fuel on the last corner and lost 3 positions and finished 7th

Heat 3 started out of 8th and worked my way up to 5th with flatty jnr just beating me over the line

Heat 4 Saturday started out of 3rd and on the drop of the green flag my spark plugs fouled dropped back straight away which is a bummer as I was in a crap spot in the points and needed my rocked ship to perform at its best to try get some good points to try get into the b main
But once they cleared I got back to 7th

C main I started 6th and was on the pace but had a whoopsie and ended being collected finished our weekend on the infield

All in all great weekend away racing at a track we haven’t been to before and wouldn’t mind going back there one day
